Feels like a lost relic from a old horror movie. The updates from 1985 have not aged well.

I went into the store yesterday after picking up my daughter from the library. She wanted a slushy and I needed gas. Hubby texts needing smokes. So we walk in. The slushy machine is down so she asked if she could have doritos and a pop instead. Sure. So we get to the counter and this yellow headed young girl rings up the pop and doritos. I tell her I would also like $30.00 in gas and a pack of Marlboro Lights. She refuses to sell the cigarettes to me because my daughter was in the store. I was completely confused. I asked why that was. She said her Manager said that all the newbies were not allowed to sell cigarettes to anyone that had their children or any child with them unless they had a school ID showing they were 18. Um duh, if she was 18 she would have a state issued ID or license. Duh!! My daughter just turned 13 and no way in hell would I allow her to touch our cigarettes let alone buy them for her. 13? Really? I am 38 years old and have been smoking for 20 years now. I have bought smokes with her present at my side since she was very little. I have also bought myself a bottle of wine once in a blue moon along with my hubbies Budweiser or two and never had an issue. There is no law in the state of MI stating if your child is with you, you cannot buy smokes or beer. She totally refused to sell me the smokes so I left and took my business to Fogg across the street. And they let me buy my husband some cigarettes and got my $45 sale. Your loss Rich! What jerks! I have been buying cigs, gas, milk, packs of pop, goodies etc.. at this store for years now and my daughter is normally present with me when I do so. She normally goes in so she can get her slushie. You morons will be losing alot of money from me monthly considering I stop there like 3 times a week or more and spend $40 + each time. Add it up. I will let everyone I know in town about this. This is not how you treat a customer that constantly gives you business. How dare you accuse me of buying cigarettes for my child and not allow me to buy them!! This seems to be discrimination against anyone with a young child!

Love the workers, minus one - not very people friendly. Only thing they are missing is Speedy Rewards. Come on Speedway, it's one of your chains, get to it. Also you guys realllllly need to get that whole drive re-paved. ;)
