We stayed here after our engagement and considered reaching out to book our elopement as well. Extremely disappointed in the unprofessional response we received after inquiring. Jenna Phillips from the hospitality team responded to our inquiry with the short and unprofessional response “too smol” due to the limited number of guests we intended to have, which is typical for an elopement style ceremony. They have elopement packages available, which is why we reached out, so I’m confused as to why we were given such an unprofessional response. The response from Hailey Jones was much more appropriate; however, this overall response left us disappointed.
After staying here for our engagement and having a seemingly good experience, receiving this disappointing response has admittedly tainted the positive memories and associations of our time there.
Do better Stonecliffe.

This hotel is administratively challenged. Beautiful view, staff weren’t great. We could’ve stayed at the Grand for less but better service.

Love this place! William with housekeeping and Adam in lounge took great care to make the vacation memorable! Will definitely return!

Stunning setting, gardens, and views.
Good food.
Beautiful remodel.
Rooms are comfortable and well decorated, quiet and clean.
Service was a hit or miss. Seems like lack of communication between employees a few times, and required our follow-up. Seems like they are still ironing out the kinks and should flow smother next season.
Our anniversary dinner was a flop. We were comped dishes for the snafu and for a broken bike, so it’s nice to see that management is noticing issues and fixing them, but in general, it didn’t always feel like a 4star hotel outside our room.
Feels like servers in the formal dining room need more training. We sat for 20mins without water or anyone coming to get a drink order. Also dishes were delivered to the table without silverware or spoons and we had to request cutlery. I Ordered a cappuccino for breakfast, my partner got a coffee in a mug with a saucer and my drink was delivered in a paper cup. I asked for a coffee mug and was brought one that was dirty. At lunch our appetizer came with one main course, because with two different kitchens, the mains came at wildly different times for all tables. Small missteps again and again illustrates a need for better training.
The Inn is a Good place for families and kids, with lots to do. It’s best feature is being far from the ferry and chaos of the crowds. It’s a quieter location than other hotels on the island and feels more relaxing. If you plan to bike, be prepared for hills and beautiful sights. You can rent bikes at the hotel, ask for a basket and take a towel from the wellness center if you find yourself wanting to go take a swim in the lake. It’s a 40min horse carriage ride from the inn to the ferry stop,’free on check-in and departure days, other rides in and out of town cost $11 per person each way.

We were more than pleasantly surprised with our stay at the Inn at Stonecliffe! This was the first time we had ever stayed (or heard of) the property and I cannot wait to return. My husband and my kids had the best time, I wish we had more days to spend. My only comment would be on the prices of the meals on property versus the quality. The food was not on par with the beauty and luxury of the property, it wasn't bad but it certainly wasn't amazing. Regardless, we loved our time here and can't wait to go back!

Yowza!!! I could not be more excited to share a review about the service and accommodations at Stonecliffe! From the instructions and service we received from team at the ferry drop to the carriage ride, welcome and festive night at the pub, I was under the Stonecliffe spell! The kicker… 100% of proceeds go to humanitarian efforts. Yes, 100%!!! Mind blowing! The pub team was awesome! Engaging, mixed a mean spicy margarita and the pecan crusted cod was phenomenal! Looking forward to returning to this hidden gem!

I really liked the Inn At Stonecliffe the rooms were comfy, cozy, and personally what I think you’d need after a long day. Bunch of kid friendly activities including movies, yoga, and games. The only thing that could have made it better was if the horse ride to town was quicker, but a lot of things made up for it. If you were planning to go out for dinner, cancel those plans and eat at the restaurant in the back of the inn. The food there was mind blowing, and don’t get me started on the view… Amazing, highly recommend great job!

Beautiful, relaxing retreat tucked away from the hustle of downtown. Stayed in the 2 bedroom suite in the Summer House which had a bit of a small living area but otherwise very nice. The grounds are beautiful with some hiking trails, great overlook at sunset, and fun lawn games. Has 2 heated pools and a nice wellness center with exercise equipment and a small sauna. Short walk to the Woods restaurant. Highly recommend if you prefer a quiet location

I am reviewing one the restaurant located inside the Inn. The Backyard, the location is fabulous and it is totally worth it for the view and location, however the prices are quite high… I took the fish tacos, one glass of wine and total with tax and tip was $63.00, the fish tacos were good but not worth $34, maybe add a side to go with it like you do with the jerk chicken. The service was very good and very quick.

I was visiting family over the holiday and we dined at the Inn at Stonecliffe. The food was very good at both restaurants. They even have a general store with standard selection of homemade ice-cream with a seasonal flavor (cherry)! The team was friendly and the property was beautifully appointed. It is a bit off the beaten path (okay way far off), but that is part of the Inn at Stonecliffe charm.

We are relative newcomers to Wisconsin, but have always wanted to visit Mackinac Island. I was so lucky to have found and booked The Inn at Stonecliffe. It was truly by chance and the website intrigued me. We went on a Friday 6/27 and left on Monday. We literally left the property and went down to Main Street to walk for about 4 hours on Saturday and that was it. The rest of the time we were so happy on the property that we didn't want to leave. Emily gave us a lovely welcome. I wish we knew the gentleman's name that was mowing around the Summer House. He was delightful and we had the best time chatting with him. I believe it was Sheldon that was king of the pizza oven and he knew exactly what he was doing. The candy cart was so much fun and the Adirondack chairs, the hammocks and the firepits and S'mores called our name every evening. If there was one person who we saw every day and truly made our day with her quick smile and fabulous service it was Samantha. After the first day we looked for her in one of the dining venues. Too much fun and a great place to chill. We hope to return this fall before it closes.
