My wife and I visited the Romeo Plank branch today with the intention of opening a savings account. The first teller to speak to us seemed to be new at the job. While pleasant, she informed us that she didn't have the ability to open accounts and that the other teller in the lobby seated next to her would be able to do that. Teller #2 never spoke to us, continued to work on what ever she was involved in, and never updated us. Eventually we walked out when we realized that we were not a priority.The tellers, as the public face of the institution, should be helpful and let customers know that they are valued. FSB has much work to do to improve customer relations.We had hoped to support a local bank, but the attitude we received today drove us to another bank that set the standard for customer service.

Utterly incompetent. I would give no stars if i could. Have never gotten the same story when calling. Then they sold my mortgage to an even less competent servicer. Never again, and cannot recommend for any banking.

Never available when needed. ATM is constantly down Everytime I come here. Worst branch ever would definitely not recommend anyone to come to this branch ever

I absolutely love the staff at this bank. They always took such good care of my father, was very personable with him and courteous. After he passed they even knew me by my first name and was completely professional with me. They understood my grief and helped me through the process of his accounts there 10/10 would recommend.

The staff at First State Bank has helped me in numerous ways, handled my home equity loan in only a couple weeks, notarized documents at a moments notice and when I had to set up a business credit card and bank accounts, the process was seemless. Can't say enough, but wish to specifically mention Sara Grevi for my personal banking needs and Brad Quail for my commercial banking needs. Being a local small business I felt a community bank served me best and they have.

I've been an active account holder since 2014, and longer as a child before hand. Now it's 2021 and I've been following the cryptocurrency markets for years. I joined exchanged COINBASE in May 2021, and I made a few transactions from my Checking Account with First State Bank. Two months later, I am now receiving my second threatening letter from FSB. The letter suggests I violated policy merely by transacting to COINBASE from my Checking Account. The first letter came one month late, the second/final-warning letter two months late; I bet my third/termination-of-account letter may come, what, in August? This is bureaucratically slow to be of any help to me, and a massive shame on First State Bank, an otherwise decent SE MI bank. Very disappointed with First State Bank. Would not recommend if you continue to use a bank in the 21st Century.

A great place to bank! Small hometown feels. First State Bank continuously invests in their community. I've never hear of a business gives back so much. The staff here are amazing, and treat you like family.

My family and I have been members of this bank for over 20 years . They really treat you like a person everyone there is supper nice. I have worked with Sara many times she has been just wonderful through the years always so helpful and patient she always has a smile . Thank you Sara Grevi for all you do.
