New Meijer to the area. We live near the Meijer on Hall Road and Hayes near Lakeside Mall but decided to check out this newer Meijer. The parking is odd but then again the store is shaped like a triangle so it's all laid out differently. My mom can not walk but a few steps so I always try to get handicap parking. It was Friday at 1pm and all but one of the handicap parking spots was taken. I slowly went around a corner as a mother and child were walking near the rear of my vehicle, and made my way to the one handicap spot when someone literally flew into it! They quickly bounced out and went into the store. Um, OK. I did find a spot somewhat close to the handicap spots. I LOVE that they had multiple, fully-functioning scooters! What a relief not to have to hunt down a rickety, barely charged one of two scooters situation that I face EVERY...SINGLE...TIME I go to the Meijer's on Hall Road. I rode a scooter out to our car and mom got on. I also loved that there were plenty of small shopping carts. The isles are large and very clean. The produce is fresh and plentiful. There are a lot of extra food items to choose from that you won't see in other grocery stores. I did notice the absence of the toys, sports and garden areas. This is a very large, well-appointed, attractive food store. They are located at the corner of 24 mile and Hayes in Macomb Township, MI.

Best part about the store is the people. Everyone I've encountered there is very friendly. Unfortunately, they are often out of things that I need so I have to go to an additional store. The produce is often moldy and left to sit there. I've told staff before about the bad produce and it's generally not removed after I've complained. Most disappointing thing is their bakery. They have beautifully decorated cakes and we have been admiring them for months. I ordered a cake for my toddler and it looks like she may have decorated it. The icing is lopsided and sloppy. They slapped a rice paper decoration on (crooked with not even put on properly) and called it decorated. It's embarrassing and if her party weren't today, I would have left it at the store. I'll switch back to Kroger and only come here when desperate.

Omg I thought I would treat my family to a small box of Paczki for Fat Tuesday from Meijer Grocery and they were the worst baked good we ever ate! We couldn't even eat them! I thought I was buying Meijer baked good but after checking the box carefully found it was CT Baking company out of Toronto Canada. Yuck

The newest grocery store in the area, the community eagerly waited for this new Meijer to open. First, if was supposed to open Spring of 2022, then late Summer of 2022..... then again at some point before the year. Low and behold, it finally opened on January 26, 2023. It's a grocery store. It's brand new, so of course it's super beautiful (if you can use that word for a grocery store). It's clean, very well stocked and organized. The lay out was easy to navigate and aisles are wide for multiple shoppers to get down and around. Early this morning I saw several spots in the store where they designated marked down items, for quick sale. I also noticed a ton of red clearance sticker items, including fresh meat, produce and gorgeous specialty celebration cakes. Also marked down for quick sale. I didn't have one employee say HI to me, which I thought was odd. I figured they'd be pushing the friendliness factor. But it didn't upset me. This is a Meijer Grocery. Its not a regular Meijer Store. The bigger Meijer are typically 180,000- 200,000 sq. ft in size and offer approximately 230,000 items for the consumer. This new Meijer Grocery in Macomb MI is a much smaller store. It makes for quicker, more efficient shopping trips. The smaller store also is supposed to leave less of a carbon footprint (or so they say). Meijer Grocery stores are typically 75,000-90,000 sq. ft and carry significantly less items. It's a more food-focused shopping experience. This location has tons of fresh produce including a a huge selection of organic. They also have a great selection of plant based items in all sections of the store. They carry all the grocery items you're used to at your other favorite grocery store. They have in-store meat cutters, again with tons of organic animal protein. Gorgeous bakery complete with in-store cake decorators. Seriously, I was most impressed with the cakes- especially the marked down priced ones- they were a A full service deli and lots of grab and go options and quick ready made meal items for those hectic days you just can't or don't want to cook. They offer a large in-store pharmacy and drive-thru pharmacy, for ease and convenience. Other areas include health & beauty care, baby items, pets and household essentials. They also have a card & party and floral section. This new Meijer offers a TON of Michigan made products like Crispelli's Bakery, Blake's Farm apple cider and hard cider, and my favorite- tons of ethic Middle Eastern items from Dearborn, just to name a few. Lots of self check outs to get in and out fast, just as I did. It's great store. It really is. Who doesn't like anything new and shiny and clean. Hopefully it will stay this way. It's definitely worth checking out, but to be honest, I doubt I'll go out of my way to shop here. But in passing I would pop in to check out the good deals and clearance finds.

Firstly I just wanna say what in the world is up with the bandaids on the face of employees covering their piercings up? any other grocery store i've been in doesn't make their employees cover their face with quite distracting bandaids.Secondly, there was an AWFUL smell in the store when i went in there the earlier day.. distracted me while i shopped.everything else was okay.

Low on staff, attitude problems with the management, not enough positive reinforcement in this store, everyone seems to have a "I'm too uppity to talk to you" attitude. Watched a poor employee have to cover up her piercings with bandaids the other day while I walked past quite a few employees that had piercings in. This is a ludicrous store, clearly there must be some sort of favoritism going on. Also very low on stock on lots of items I was trying to buy. Coupons very rarely scan at self checkout..had to call over the clerk multiple times to help me with my coupons,Not surprising to see yet another Meijer in the dumps. Between the one on 23 mile and this one, I don't even want to shop at Meijer anymore. I'm 55 years old and have yet to see a Meijer that actually knew what they were doing.

It's definitely a beautiful store & very clean but very disappointed that they do not carry Bores head lunch meat & cheese. Also a lot of scanning errors, check your receipts BEFORE you leave the store, it will save you time & aggravation.

I must admit I do not have the vision of taking something old and fixing it up. I love all new things; this Meijer is no exception. I believe it just opened up yesterday, January 26th, 2023. It's gorgeous! Lots of staff inside and everything was clean and stocked as expected. The carts are all new and don't have that single annoying wheel. We were mesmerized with all the different sections. So much organic stuff everywhere. I don't personally need it but there are those who swear by it, more power to you, this place has it all. That first visit is all about exploration and the cleanliness was welcoming. It's not too far from us, and I look forward to all future visits.
