This mideastern guy could not honor the price I paid on Priceline. Asked me to pay way more money for the vehicle I booked. And he is not able to cancel the rental contract. This business advertises the price they could not honor. I would not recommend this hertz location.

The car stop working and had to be towed, Uber transported me to the airport to pick up another vehicle, and it needed to service, the third vehicle malfunctioned light kept coming on! Bad experience this time, however I have been renting from Hertz for pver 25 years!

Desmond was wonderful to work with!! Me not knowing the manager special was an electric vehicle which I wasn’t comfortable with.. he offered me an option I liked that was within my budget! Great customer service, highly recommended!

The guy at the front desk was rude. Inspite having a reservation and having the vehicles available at the store. We were asked to pay more. When asked why the up charge. We were asked you can take this or leave the store.

The person at the Front desk is very very rude and yelling at the customers for no reason. Don't know how Hertz hires/approves people like these to work for their company.

Susan and Desmond were so helpful. I needed a rental car in a pinch because of an accident and they were able to put me in a car within my budget. Definitely recommend and will return if I have a need to get a rental car.

Had a great experience with the Hertz rental in Madison Heights, everyone was so friendly and accomodating. They answered all my questions and made sure I had a smooth rental experience. Super happy with my experience here. Returned the car and was greeted by a sweet lady who was the manager. Had no problems with getting the rental and taking it back.

Excellent place for a car rental! I absolutely love this location and the way they respond to customers, truly amazing. Mr. Desmond was fantastic throughout the entire process and made me feel very comfortable.
For the past few years, I had been renting from another company, but after this experience, I’m now a big fan of Hertz. I’ll definitely be recommending Hertz, and especially this location, because of the great service I received.
Keep up the great work, Hertz and Mr. Desmond!

I had a trip planned, they called me about 10 minutes before the time of rental to inform me he didn't have any cars at this time. he offered me other options, like calling around to other hertz locations, which I did, unsuccessfully.. I think this is an issue throughout all of hertz network, most other companies can bring in another car from another location. I had a reservation prepaid, and they ended up putting me into a smaller class car, from a different location about 6 hours later, but they still charged me the same amount. I had a reservation the following week too, which I ended up canceling, because I didn't have time for the run around, hoping maybe there will be a car. Hertz, took a $50 fee, and didn't refund me for it, for the future reservations I had, because I don't trust them anymore. maybe that will teach me to not pay for a rental up front again.
The man on the phone, understood the issue, and he asked me if I had a nice vacation, which made me feel like he cared.

There are times in this service industry where someone goes over and beyond at their job and needs to be recognized. That person for me today at Hertz (Madison Heights, MI) was Desmond, who displayed kindness, professionalism, and a hard work ethic. I’ve been a Presidential Circle member of Hertz for quite some time and usually go to another location closer to my home, but needing a same-day reservation my location understandably didn’t have any availability. When I arrived to the Madison Heights location I noticed their were two separate guests in seats and that Desmond was a one man band running from the back prepping cars to the front where he quickly greeted me and let me know that that these two guests were ahead of me and that if I had a seat, he’ll get to me as soon as he could. Now normally as a president circle I typically just grab keys and go. But as oddly as this statement may seem, I found true enjoyment watching how Desmond conducted himself in what was a pressured situation for this man. He never once broke a sweat or ever seemed overwhelmed as he was running from the back washing cars, then to the front when he heard the door open to great a guest with a courtesy and a welcoming. Even though Desmond was doing the work of two people, he moved expeditiously while keeping guests informed of his progress. Which is something I value from service. I rather be informed and given honesty to the agent’s situation, then be in the dark and feel I’m given the runaround. As Desmond advanced through the guests prior to me, getting their car prepared and sitting with them through the booking process. He maintained this upbeat demeanor and spoke with energy the entire time and never once showed tiredness or frustration from juggling all these tasks he had going on. Again, a true display of professionalism!!!!!!!
Even a guest came in who had to be informed that they’re completely booked, and no more vehicles are available. Desmond did this with grace and empathy with this guest who seemed he was in a desperate need to travel that evening, offering him an EV vehicle (which didn’t have the milage range) and alternate Hertz locations that possibly could accommodate a last-minute rental.
As I was being provided my keys and before actually knowing this agents name. I asked him for his business card, informing him that I wanted to leave a review of him. Surprisingly, he did not have his own business card, as he had the traits of being the manager of this location by the actions he displayed. Luckily for me he wrote his name on the back of his managers business card, who I’ll be reaching out directly to with this review.
You know, too often we dwell on the negative times we experience and quick to write about them. However, I also enjoy those times I get to write about someone who thoroughly impressed me, who exemplifies the meaning of service. Thank-you Desmond, my local Hertz is very good but I just may of found a new location.
