I have bought three engines (different boats) from these guys 2 remans and 100% brand new turn key SBC as well. The remans are great and had all gaskets etc included for install. And the drop in turn key engine was on another level. All billet pulleys full tuned and dynoed before I got it and when they say turn key it literally was. And man did it look good! Will be buying another one soon!!!!

Man, These guys are great! I ordered some parts on a Sunday night and received them Mid-Day Tuesday 2 days later. I live over 5 hours away, so I expected to see them by Wed/Thursday. Very happy with my purchase, parts quality and service. I needed some additional Assistance and Devin and Jacob jumped right on it!Thanks again! I'll be back for more.

I talked to Clayton the master rigger, he took me through the process step by step. We put a Chevy 6 cl 4.3 225 hp engine in our 1965 Chris Craft.

Don’t normally leave reviews but after calling every marina in the state of Michigan for a part Michigan Motorz was the only place that had in stock. Their service is impeccable even at 5 pm on a Friday before a big weekend. Hard to find a good shop for those vintage ski boats, highly recommend.

Bought new longblock/5.7 marine motor complete with carb and harness from these folks and wiring harness was all wrong for my boat. Shop had to rewire whole thing. Carb failed within 6 months due to corrosion issues, but that was a Holley defect and they replaced the carb for free. Once all this fixed motor ran great.

Went with these guys to build a replacement engine for my Regal. Great customer service, the team gave me regular updates! From start to finish they had an engine built, shipped and to me within their ETA without issue!

This place was VERY non customer friendly! I called them to ask someone if they had something in stock. ( I work near there and needed this item today) the person that answered the phone said. I don't know if we have it . You have to look it up on our website. So after trying to find out if it was in stock. And thier website not making it clear or not. I called a 2nd time. This time finding someone a little nicer. He said I'll text you with a answer. We'll he did. But when I asked how to purchase this item. Because they have closed their customer service counter. ( Worse idea ever) he never answered me. So I called a 3rd time. This person put me on hold and never came back. Now mind you. I am trying to run a business myself. So time is money. It took me over a hour just to order this part. How long do you think it would have taken me. To just walk in and purchase it? I only tolerated this POOR business ethics. Because I really needed this item today!

I was told i was purchasing a damaged in shipment, complete volvo penta engine. I was made aware of a missing fuel pump and CDI box. I was also aware of one damaged intake manifold and the oil filler tube/cap. This was all via conversations with Devin at Michigan Motors. Upon receiving the engine from Michigan Motors, it was obvious that they took it upon themselves to go ahead an pull of want they perceived to be damaged or of the upmost resale value which was all unbeknownst to me. The deal was you were shipping the engine as is and i would be removing what was damaged to complete the engine with the engine i had from my boat, CAUSE WHY WOULD ANY BUSINESS WASTE THEIR TIME REMOVING BROKEN PARTS.There was never any mention of parts being removed before shipping! Why would anyone take the time to remove "damaged parts" by cutting hoses and engine wiring harnesses if parts weren't being kept to resale?A conversation was had between Devin and a 15 year employee of Michigan Motorz and after making all of this clear to the 15 year employee the only settlement was $500 credit for the extra work on my mechanics side of things to rebuild the engine, forget about the thousands of dollars in missing parts... just reiterating, why would you pull off broken parts before shipping, knowing it had a few missing and broken parts????? BECAUSE THEY WERENT BROKEN, YOU TOOK OFF WHAT YOU WANTED FOR RESALE AND SENT ME WHAT YOU DIDNT WANT.

I went to MM after seeing them selling long blocks on eBay. Turns out even though the long blocks are listed as 'in stock' and ready to ship that there's actually a 3-4 week wait. So I waited. 4 weeks later a long block arrived missing some parts that were supposed to be included and including a few parts from another engine that were no good to me. The 'complete gasket set' wasn't - so I had to go out and buy some gaskets, and a timing chain cover and gaskets / seal kit (also supposed to be included but wasn't)The motor itself wasn't bad - could have used a little better prep - there was still RTV all over the oil pan mating surface and the 'urethane paint' they used for anti corrosion looked like it had been thrown at the engine from a distance. Upon starting the motor there was some clicking and tapping from the valvetrain. I went to MM for help, no response, emails go unanswered, phone calls go to voicemail. The core charge thing is a joke - I can't even get these people to respond. I hate writing bad reviews on companies but I've spent a few weeks trying to get MM to return a call, answer an email without any success at all. The only time they were responsive and attentive was when I had my credit card out. So here you go. 2 stars. I won't use MM again.

I cannot say enough about the warranty department . Phill’s customer service was bar none some of the best I’ve had from online purchases. He sent me out a new tach within just a couple of days contacting him. Super easy to notify through text, I will be doing more shopping with that kind of support
