Root Cellar Resort and Dining is a reliable place for a good meal, often described as incredible and fantastic. Under new ownership, the menu remains the same with great additions like a new concrete patio for outdoor seating. The food is excellent and cooked to perfection, with highlights including the Saturday Prime Rib with generous cuts, rib eye, pulled pork sandwich, mushroom swiss burger, club sandwich, Friday fish fry, and cheese curds. The salad bar is highly recommended for its freshest fixings and good ranch dressing. Sides like well-seasoned fries are also praised. Service is amazing, attentive, and fantastic, with staff noted as super friendly and making guests feel very welcome and at home. The bar service is outstanding. The location on the lake is convenient, though more boat parking is a recommended improvement. The overall experience is superb and well worth the cost, with many guests stating they will definitely return and cannot say enough good things.
Under new ownership, but menu remains the same. The bar service was fantastic. Bill is the best!!! They have a new concrete patio off the back dining room which is a great place to enjoy a refreshing libation or meal. Even in the UP summer, you can still find many days that are relatively bug free on the patio.

Stopped here on motorcycles for lunch. The food was excellent: pulled pork sandwich, mushroom swiss burger, cheese curds. Tim the bar tender was outstanding. He really made us feel at home. We will be back.
