Please read before you go here!!! To pre-face this post. I had never been to a salon for a hair cut or hair color ever so this experience was all new. At the time I was a single mom, and my roommate wanted to treat me to getting my hair colored. Just some highlights. I have always had very blonde and curly hair. All natural, and at this point I was so excited because my hair was starting to reach my butt! So I thought it would be a fun experience,something different. I got there and my stylist was Ashley. She seemed nice, friendly. However when she asked me what i wanted done, I wasn't sure. My roomate talked with ashley and so did i. Ashley had talked about it and had a plan. I thought it was weird that she didn't seem to know what to do.
I told ashley that my friend stated some lowlights or highlights as i didnt know anything about getting your hair colored. Ashley Seemingly studied my hair and said we were gonna do a balayge. I had no idea what this was. So. I specified that i did not want to lose any length or have to much of change. We discussed no cutting. No length to be taken off. As I loved my long curly blonde hair ashley said no worries! This was August 2024. After ashley applied the dye, we waited a while. Ashley went next door and got food from the food truck we chatted i paid for her food as a tip because it was the least I could do given my friend was paying for this entire experience. I continued to wait then she said it was time for a rinse. This women fried off all of my hair. I dont know how else to explain what happend to my hair, it was slofting off. I now have hair above my shoulders. I was devastated and crying to my roommate when I got home. My hair was falling out when i ran my fingers through it. Again this whole experience was new. I didn't know what to do. I left Ashley's chair not saying much out of the fact that i couldn't belive how my hair looked. When I got home My roommate said we needed to go back,and talk to Ashley, because this was not what she had paid for. Ashley hanlded this terribly.Denying that she did it. Told my roommate and I, I dye my hair and lied to her, that's reason it was falling out . Ashley even went as far as saying i cut it off my self to get money from her. Ashley bottom line accused me of lying, didn't do a test strand, and fried my hair that I grew out for 8 years. Zero accountability. Please do not go here. After what i experienced , im devasted my hair is gone. Ashley ruined that experience entirely. And made it worse instead of an apologie . she stated it was my fault the reason my hair turned out the way it did. I've never seen a business handle anything like this. Not to mention how unsanitary it is looking back. There are so many salons in marquette. Please avoid this one.

Nail polish looks globbed on. Asked for coffin tips and it's definitely not what I got. They are more square than anything and I had to tell her to fix the crooked ones. Also, way too short. They were a decent length and then she kept making them shorter and more square. There were too many things going on at once. I was rushed out of there. AND they don't do ombré.

I had not met Ashley before. Love that when I sat down she asked me to tell her about my hair. I explained my hair and what I'd like (which was terms like sassy, easy, professional) and I walked out with the perfect haircut for me. I absolutely love it and will be back to keep it up as it is a short cut. Couldn't be happier and she translated what I told her into the perfect haircut.
