Sara the manager fired my 64 year old mother who depended on that paycheck to pay rent. We almost got evicted and sge had no groceries for 3 weeks. She kives on social security. Shame on the ageist company

Lady that rang up my items was absolutely rude uncalled for. As I was waiting to be rang up she was talking to another women that works their says you can come up we are women we can talk you know. Rings up my stuff just says their you go uncalled for no matter the age for a excuse to be that way you shouldn't be working with the public.

This is one of the worst Dollar Generals (Marysville, MI) I have ever been to! The managers need to be promptly fired as they can't get off their lazy ass and take care of customers literally forming a stagnant line at the checkout. Instead they literally sit in their office then yell to the back of the store for an associate to come up front to get people wrung up as a line has formed and people are waiting. This is completely unacceptable in my opinion. The managers office is about 15' away from the register but obviously they cant be bothered to help get people taken care of. I was the fourth person to sit in line today without a checkout lady anywhere in sight. I turn around and there is a manager sitting at her computer with her back to the door acting like she is completely unaware there are 4 people patiently waiting to checkout so we can go about our day! I left my drinks on the counter and walked out after a few minutes. Everyone in line was getting frustrated no one was around to do their job. This is the third time I've walked out of this DG for this exact reason. Corporate will be hearing from me today, again! I've also been a store manager, twice in my life and know the number one objective should be promt service, literally serve the customers, it's a simple concept. I understand waiting for a moment or two but waiting up to 5min or more is completely unacceptable. People are on their way to work, or on their lunch break, on their way to a job interview or whatever they're doing, the whole point here is people don't have an unlimited amount of time to wait to be wrung up by a store associate stocking shelves while a store manager is literally sitting 15' away and knows damn well there is a line waiting. Today as I waiting I turned to the managers office and said, excuse me there are people out here waiting to be wrung up, does anyone even care? She acted like she didn't hear me. After a quick word with the other patrons waiting in line about their frustration from waiting, I said this happens regularly here then I left. PEOPLE DONT HAVE ALL DAY TO WAIT ON YOU, get up and take care or your customers!!! Unfortunately I will no longer be shopping at this location, Unbelievable!

Should be convenient being so close to home, but I'll drive farther at this point. Staff is rude, self checkout never working right and it's just a hassle most the time.

At Dollar General, they have 3 registers. One has been perpetually broken for months. Finally, the other one stopped working and I had to use the one manned by an older blond who may have even been the manager. And she had an attitude. As I approached she was already on her phone. I took my 12-pack of coke and started scanning it. Then I was about to do it again when she stopped me. I had more than one case. She informed me that this register was NOT self-served. Then she demanded my other packages. She scanned the same one several times and I asked her if she was finished. She said she was and when I checked the price it did not seem right so I asked her where the discount was. She told me to scroll up on my screen, but when I tried it was locked. She had to unlock then she told me "There, go ahead." I scrolled up but did not see the discounts so I asked her where they were and she said they didn't show on my screen. So I asked to see hers in case the cases did not ring up right. She refused. She said, "No, I'm not letting you see my screen." She wanted me to argue with her but I wasn't going to do it. I not going to beg her to let me see the discount that the store advertised. I wasn't going to make a scene or give her an excuse to the police or anything else. I just left everything there and walked out. I want you people to know just how rude that witch at General Dollar was for NO REASON. I didn't want to go to her in the first place. I don't go to manned resisters, even at the Meijers, I prefer self-serve registers just so I don't have to deal with their rude personnel. I prefer to ring up my groceries. That's how RUDE people have become. They are closing 1000 Dollar Generals nationwide and she treats me like a criminal. Goodbye and good riddance. Monster.

Constantly having problems with this location. But then came here the other day and they locked the doors and wouldn’t let anyone in because they got a shipment, even though they had multiple people working and they have self scans. Then came here today and it’s 8:15am and they still haven’t opened the doors for the day. Not even sure any employee he here since I don’t see a car in the parking lot besides people who are trying to get inside. Pay employees more and hire better staff.

I love coming here, the place is clean and it’s so easy to get in and out. The only reason I have 4 stars instead of 5 is because of a male manager that was working today (9/25/23, around 10am). He was speaking to his female cashier HORRIBLY, to the point where I was about to step in. Speaking to your employees like that is how you lose staff. She deserves so much better. It genuinely seemed she was doing her best, and he just had horrible communication. He spoke to her like a dog. To the female cashier, I hope you find a better, less hostile place to work. I really hope Dollar General does something about this, as that is no way to speak to a human.

Since they've remodeled I've found them closed at random times for stocking, but other than that it's very clean, the staff is very helpful, prices are great, & they have many of the things on my monthly grocery list. They even have a small produce selection.I make this my first stop before placing an order for groceries at the big box store & find I'm saving a ton of money this way

They have a large selection of quality goods for low prices. The average dude can supply his lunch for a week or two from here for a fraction of the cost of daily trips togas stations.
