I'd give them a 0 star if I could.I don't know where to begin but I will never understand why after 6 years of bringing 5 dogs and a cat to this facility we have been treated so wrong. Per my conversation (while I was in Chicago for a conference) with Jenn our dog was denied boarding that we had prior reservations for. The reason because she could be going into heat. Jenn said there is no facility that would take a dog in heat. That is incorrect Dorr Vet does! July 1st I called to confirm dates (I have my phone records of each call) of boarding 5th - 7th. I told them Ruby may be going into heat. Each time they said let them know when you bring them in. We'll that was not what happened. My husband had to miss those day of work because they would not take them. If they had told me before hand we could of made other arrangements. I told her maybe it's time to change because this was the 3rd incident with boarding. Jenn said where do you want me to send your records and hung up on me. Dorr Vet requested our records and a prescription for the 3 dogs heart and worm and flea and tick. They said the vet refused to do that. Now I have to have 3 heart and worm exams for 3 dogs when they just had them done at Thorneapple. Why would they do something like this is beyond me. Today we found this all out when we had our first visit at Dorr Vet. They spoke with Mattie.Mattie has always been rude and unprofessional to me and I told Jenn that. Mattie lacks customer service but I endured her unprofessional behavior.I'm just not understanding why a facility that we used for 6 years would do this to us! They would NOT send our 3 dogs vaccinations, medical history. We had to pay $600.00 plus to have their exams done again. I was standing there when they called the Thorneapple vet office and they said the vet refused to send over any records.

We enjoy the peace of mind that comes from working with the superbly talented team at TVMC. Whether it’s providing care for our two 15 year old chihuahuas or our 6 month old Maltipoo,9 we know that our beloved furry companions are in good hands.

I started boarding my dog at this facility in 2022. At that time I was asked to provide her vaccinations, which I gladly did.We have been relatively happy with the care the dog has received. The first time she was there for 7 to 10ish days and she came home very thin. I mentioned this when I picked her up and the response was that the girls in the kennel will generally notice if they aren't eating and will give canned dog food. I asked if they could be sure that happens in the future when we board her. The second time we boarded her she looked better when we picked her up.When we went to board the dog in July of this year, 2023, the statement was made to my husband that our dogs vaccinations were over due. The dog can't be boarded without them so he gave them the go ahead to give her the vaccinations. She had already had her vaccinations in June at South Kent.I called Thornapple Valley regarding this and said I was unhappy she received her vaccinations for a second time (the cost was $90). Had they asked my husband if she had been vaccinated instead of telling him she wasn't, he would have called me on the spot as I handle all of the pet visits and vaccinations and I could have texted and emailed proof of vaccinations. The initial women I spoke with, Keri, was incredibly rude. She told me it was my husbands fault. She said they don't check the files when you call to make the reservation and I said but they did when I called, they needed to see what size kennel she was in in the past. At that time it would have been easy to view her vaccination status.I called back and spoke with Leslie. She was much nicer but they are refusing to credit my account or provide a refund. Their response is they are too busy to deal with asking for proof of vaccinations, if it isn't in the file they will assume the dog needs them. I said it's a simple question, do you have up to date vaccinations. She said they are too busy to do that. It would take less time to ask the question then to print a form and have you sign permission for the vaccinations and to administer them.I am quite disappointed in how they handle the vaccination question and it is obvious from comparing my receipt from South Kent to Thornapple Vet that Thornapple charges double and triple the cost for vaccines so this must be their way of increasing their profit. So we are out $90 because they are making a stand on they refuse to ask if you have had the vaccinations done, they will only tell you they are overdue and charge you an arm and a leg.We started boarding here on the recommendation of a friend who takes their dog there for their shots. I guess depending on what services you use, who you work with and how busy they are will determine the outcome... And I have let plenty of others, including my friend that referred me, know that it is much less expensive to go elsewhere.

Our dog was very sick and we had to put him down today. The doctor and staff were so supportive from the beginning of his prognosis to the end of the journey. . Highly recommend this office to anyone with animals!!

I've been bringing my dogs and cats here for about 8 years now. They've always been warm, kind and friendly here. Dr Holly has been amazing with all my pets. She listens when I have concerns and is thorough at her explanations.

Two of our dogs have gone there to cross over the rainbow bridge. Each time we have had to go through that, they made it comforting for us and showed a lot of empathy while we were hurting. I love this place and would never go anywhere else.

Good, fast, and friendly. They are busy and could benefit from another vet. Having to wait a few days to get an appointment can be stressful.
