My family has been long time customers of Dow CU and DCECU. Taken out many loans over the years and invested. Understanding loan terms is the responsibility of the person signing on the dotted line. All loan officers I have dealt have given us the opportunity to ask question's and explain further any concerns. Dow CU happens to be one of the best banking and investment experiences in my family. Rates have always been competitive. When you throw in member saving giveback there’s not another banking institution that compares.

Very helpful staff. I have a fraud alert on my bureau. Laura was extremely helpful and got my account setup. Great CD rates at the time I am writing this review. I look for to doing business with them. I dinged them 1 star because they do a hard credit pull, which is unnecessary when not applying for a loan. When you loan a bank your money, a soft pul, is sufficient to very identify.

Very poor customer service and they charge outrageous fees instead of just declining a charge. I've lost over $300 over them not declining a charge because of an "error" in their system and they refuse to refund me. After I refused to charge their incorrect fees they started going after my family for the money. Very Very Very poor customer service and I'm am happy that I switched to Members First! Please save yourself the hassle and never do business with this credit union. It's sad after almost 30 years of being a customer they would do this to me and my family. Please avoid this place!

This financial institution holds on to funds from cashiers checks for up to 10 days. It’s a desperate tactic to make interest on money that no longer belongs to them.UPDATE: After my posts a representative reached out to me. Whomever this person was, they were somewhat helpful, however quite vague. I still don't have a full resolution to my legitimate purchase and the process is being held up by Dow.

Recently given a loan here that was more than my used vehicle is worth! Tried to pay on principal only but can't. They charged me over $53. in interest on my principal payment. What the heck!Stay as far as the east is from the west from this place. Since when can't we pay money on principal only????? Or trust them not to loan more than a vehicle is worth? They thought they could sell "gap" insurance I guess!

I only had an account here for a few months I got a credit card from them and it was stolen and used for a 655 dollar charge and the fraud department even called and knew it was fraud and they refuse to take care of it! I will be pulling all my money from them and never doing business here again, and I suggest no one to bank here ever!

I recently got a Mortgage thru DCU. They made it a relatively easy experience. I have since moved all my banking to DCU and have been very pleased. It feels like an actual credit union that is there to help its members, not profit from them. So many other "credit unions" have lost sight of this.

My husband and I have been members of Dow Credit Union for 40+ years. Do the math. There is NO other financial institution in our tri-counties that can even come close to ALL the services and benefits of DCU!!

Highly recommend! The member giveback rebate on mortgages is excellent and one of the only programs like it in the country. They also stay very up to date with technology and even though we now live out of the area, access to all our accounts is still easy.

I accidentally overdrafted my account twice because I “authorized more in transactions than I had available in my account.” It was hard not to because pending transactions always disappear, and the account said that money was available when it really wasn't. I thought the credit union was supposed to help me accurately track my spending in the transactions section. I paid each overdraft occurrence back in full within 50 days to avoid permanent closure. They revoked my debit card even after they told me if I paid the overdrafted amount back they wouldn’t. This happened a couple months ago and I see I’m not the only one who has had a bad experience with Dow Credit Union. I thought they were supposed to be the best.

Called yesterday about my card not working so I called and was told “Dow” is having a card problem and there was no timeline to fix the problem and “Dow” asking people not to call the bank. Called today against the request of their employees. And was told they “updated” card may randomly without any notice or sending out new one. After Receiving late fees on bills and shut offs because I don’t have access to my money. This problem could have been fixed yesterday with the correct information but instead I get to work all day and go home to no power in winter. How about leaving peoples cards how they are and let them choose to update them instead of leaving your clients hanging. When I called the machine said there was 900 people on call waiting… I know I’m not the only one.

The transition to contactless cards could have been handled so much better. I know it left myself and a lot of others frustrated after being locked out of our accounts with no way to access cash at the atm either. Calling the bank to activate the contactless card was no help and I ended up in the waiting area with 10 other people with the same problem. I hate being that person, but it was ridiculous.

I have been banking with DCECU for Years now. It started out great however, I can confirm that the other negative reviews are grounded in fact. They just turned my Debit Card off because they are moving to Contactless Debit Cards. There was no warning, my card was just being declined everywhere. They said that they had sent me one when I called them but, I couldn't recall ever receiving one. Nonetheless, there was absolutely nothing they can do currently to help me out. Told me they could send one in 2 weeks or I could drive to a branch to get one but all of my bills are tied to this card. This isn't an isolated case either. I refinanced my car loan through them, thinking that the years of banking with them would mean something however, spoiler, it doesn't. The manager handling my account was amazing and had to navigate their system to make it work so she was the only shining light. The other negative reviews that mention how this institution does not give you a heads up or can even outright withhold information are absolutely based. They didn't like my insurance and decided that the proof they received wasn't enough so for the next few months they were adding a $90 charge to my remaining balance for the vehicle without ever uttering a word to me. I literally had to stumble upon it one day as I was checking my statements.I will admit that I technically missed a payment on the vehicle loan. I didn't have enough to cover it on a Thursday when I get paid Friday. They took whatever was in my account which was about half of the payment but considered it late regardless. It was about a week later I started receiving emails and phone calls about how my account was causing a "Concern." It was on my credit as late that month after being on time and never missing a payment for over a year.Seriously, reconsider using DCECU. All of their positive reviews are short and lack detail while their negative ones are long, citing numerous encounters and faults. Just do yourself a favor and avoid them.

45 minutes, five times being sent into phone round-about, three times hanged up and no help to correct mistake they made. After asked for SEVEN separate indentifiers "for my safety" THREE TIMES in a row, all three workers either interrupted the calls or blindly stated that they are no qualified to correct the mistake and sent me to yet another run around for the same department. "Quality of service" was low beyond ridiculous.
