Wow I thought you helped people in need, not kick them while they are down!!! I took my my girlfriend today for the pickup for her kids as times are tough and she has had 2 major surgerys in the last 2 months, only for the ladies that run it to turn her away saying she didn't complete something when she absolutely did and belittled her in front of everyone. We have proof!!! I really question how they are in this position with the lies and deceiving. I really hope you ladies reap what you sow. You just took from needing kids.

I signed up for Christmas help back in October over the phone. They were understanding then and knew I wouldn't be able to come in because I just had major back surgery. I explained how I had another surgery scheduled for December 5th and that I might not be able to even pick up. They told me I could have someone pick up for me. I'd just need to write a note and they show photo ID. I asked if I could call back with someone who could do it. I called back and let them.know my BF would pick up for me. That was the end of that. I get a call a week later stating I needed proof of his income because I said he was in the home. I informed them that was never said. He is not in the home so his income doesn't matter. They kept insisting I told them he was. I got frustrated hung up and called back. Spoke with a major Heidi. She said she would look into it. She called me back and left a VM stating I either need to bring something notarized stating what his income is or his ID showing he is not in the home. I decided to go with him today in case we needed to pick out any clothes or anything for my kids. Get all the way there and get told that they are not helping me. That I did not complete my application. They tried to call me 3 times yesterday and my VM box was full. That they were informing me that I needed to bring something notarized stating he isn't in the home. That if I had answered my phone they could of helped me today. They never called me, my VM box is not full. Not only that but I called them numerous times yesterday trying to see what time I needed to be there. Spoke with one person who said there is no designated time to just show up at 10. Was not told anything then when I called. So not only am I out that gas for going there but now I'm left with no help for Christmas just weeks before. Seriously so cold and rude on them to turn away someone in their time of need. Not only that but someone who's had 2 major surgery in a matter of months!

I am very supportive of the Salvation Army and its work. When I heard that a $20 bill given to a Salvation Army bell ringer would receive a $100 match I wanted to be sure I participated in that opportunity, so I called to make sure my information was correct. I was glad to see two young bell ringers from Dow High on duty.

Was asking for rental assistance. I am usually very thrifty with my financial situation but got behind because of car issues and did do some upgrades to my home. I found a few of my receipts but it was not enough to satisfy Kelly the interviewer. She made me feel as though my lower income status made me ineligible to own a car. I felt like I was begging for help so I just told her that I would take care of my problem myself and I have. I will never ask their organization for assistance again. I never plan to donate or shop at the Salvation Army stores again based on her treatment. They may do great things for others but they sure made me feel like a beggar.

When I first moved here. I filled out Christmas giving. When I came to pick up my things they said nobody donated in midland and gave me a ham. Lol 3 women stared at me and then talked about my reaction of confusion. Lol. Was not impressed.
