I gave 5 stars to even things out. It's a Dollar General, not the Ritz. You don't walk into Dollar General expecting top tier customer service, the people working are just trying to pay the bills. Give them a break.

I went shopping and paid for my stuff and the system went down, or froze, my card was charged but I was not allowed to get my items because of system failure. The manager tried to pull up my transaction but it didn't work. I am upset because my cared was charged $61.63 and I could not get my money back nor leave with my items. ????

It was hard enough to find someone who worked here before the machine started accepting cash, now it's almost impossible! The lady with back hair is the slowest, rudest, and most disrespectful person I have ever met. She got an attitude because she had to walk up front to do a cash app transaction. She kept mumbling and talking to her self and giggling. Then she started talking to the male store manager and they completely ignored the fact that I was there waiting for my change. The lady counted the money wrong twice that I gave her, and it took 3 times to get the correct about of change from her. Finally on the 3rd time I have up and left, leaving the change there. She was clearly high on something and the store manager just let her carry on like it was nothing. This store is horrible for customer service anyway but now you allow employees who are clearly under the influence of something interact with customers. Horrible

5/4/23 UPDATE! Why I went back, I have no clue!I tried again,. I was in a hurry and wanted some food to take to work for my employees. Dollar General is on my way, I bought 5 food items and went up to the self check out register. It had the message on it that said continue if using credit card no cash payments. continue if you agree I hit the continue button. Paid for my items drove to work . I realized why was my order so high? I see an $8 item on there that I did not buy plus It has tax on it. Long story short. There must have been a item already on the register when I rank up my items. Then the young lady that's running the store Said she cannot give me my money back because I have to return the item? And I told her I don't have an item to return, I didn't purchase anything that wasn't food, 4 days later the district manager was supposed To have called Me. 3 times? And now I'm on to the regional manager who still hasn't called me either. This place is a joke. Do not know how they stay in business! $8.00 people! I will continue to call until they make it right!I was so excited to have this retailer come to Milan. My expectations were high, thinking what a great addition to this lovely town.I was seriously wrong. My first visit was the week they opened and had to listen to employees argue with and talk down to a customer. Since I did not witness the whole exchange, I let it go.Until my 2nd visit, where the rudeness was to me because I asked for help with a promo that did not ring correctly. Instead of fixing the price the employee took a handheld scanner scanned the item and shoved the scanner in my face and said this is the correct price! I then said the signs say differently so could you please fix it she then leaned forward and screamed The manager's name so close I could fill her wind and spit in my face. He then came over, And tried to fix the self check out that I was on because I'm sure it timed out since they were taking so long I asked them if they could just fix it so I can get home ,since I just got off work and I am a store manager.I also stated this is not customer service and I would never treat any of my customers this way! They proceeded to make fun of me and acted like I was the issueThen about 3 days later I heard from my best friend who went in and had a very similar disturbing experience.You would think being brand new to the area that they would want to make an extremely positive impact instead of having so many complaints within the 1st few weeks of opening! As convenient as it would be I find it very hard to go back and give them my business.

This store is a joke. Out of bags for days on end (who is in charge of ordering supplies). Most of the time there is no one at the register. Went there yesterday and a employee was eating lunch out on the floor. When a customer went to her to ring them up, she just shook her head no (how rude). I have run in to a few good employees there in the past, but they must have quit or are not there all the time. I have also been there several times when the lights were out and doors locked (this was during the day and there were no power outages). Very poorly run... very disappointing as there are things there that I like.

Extremely frustrating and upsetting experience. I was shopping with my mom and sister, when my mom had a question. She approached an older woman with blonde high lights stocking the glasses. All my mom did was ask “excuse me do you work here?”(she had no badge). And the lady said “no. No I do not” and did the “shoo” gesture with her hand and shook her head while making a nasty face. I noticed her continuing to stock so I asked “don’t you?” And she IGNORED us aside from rudely lying. I’ve never experienced this level of awful and hurtful behavior in retail in my life! Don’t know how they let behave this way. Only reason I’m not leaving a 1 star is because the young girl who was the cashier was very kind and understanding when I gave her my feedback about my experience.

The young lady that was there on 1/22/23 @ 12pm. The rudeness that came from this young lady was by far the worse I've dealt with in years.

Nice clean store, seems to have alot of computer issues for a new store. Friendly people and almost everything I needed.
