Kensington Metropark is a beautiful and expansive outdoor destination that offers a wide range of activities and amenities for visitors. The park is especially picturesque in the fall, with the changing colors of the leaves creating a stunning backdrop. Visitors can enjoy hiking and biking along the extensive trail system, as well as boating and water sports on the large lake at the center of the park. In the summer, the water slides and boat rentals are popular attractions, while in the colder months, the park is a great spot for cross-country skiing and sledding. The park also features a nature center, a farm, and a golf course, making it a versatile destination for a variety of interests. Restrooms and other facilities are generally open year-round, though some may be closed during the fall and winter seasons. One of the highlights of the park is the opportunity to feed the birds by hand, with visitors encouraged to bring shelled peanuts to attract the feathered friends. The park is also known for its heron and egret rookery, which can be viewed from a nearby boardwalk. Overall, Kensington Metropark is a well-rounded outdoor destination that offers something for everyone, whether you're looking for a peaceful nature walk, an active day of sports and recreation, or a chance to connect with the local wildlife.

Amazing place! I camped out here once -, it was fantastic. They had a water pumping and fire pit.

One park with so many activities. Well maintained, well paved and clean. Encompasses clean beaches, water boating/renting, multiple parks, excellent bike paths and an animal farm. For folks in the locality this a getaway for spring/summer months. Highly recommend getting an annual pass.
