We took our 12 year old golden/lab in yesterday to be seen. He collapsed Sunday evening outside and could not hold himself up. We took him in as soon as they could see him Monday morning. We told them everything that had happened in the last 24 hours plus symptoms that have occurred over the last year. While she was checking him over, he flinched a couple of times when she pressed around his groin/stomach area. This was odd because we could touch him anywhere, but we just assumed maybe it was because he hadn't went pee because he couldn't walk. The vet insisted on an xray to look for a slipped disc, after the xrays showed no sign of this she proceeded to tell us there was a chance it we couldn't see one on the xray....?????!! And that his bladder didn't look too big, so that theory was out. Then she went on to tell us about his blood results and seemed concerned for a moment. His kidney numbers were elevated and she wanted him to be on an antibiotic and steroid, and told us to give it with food (after we told her he was refusing to eat) and his red and white blood cells were a little off. She didn't tell us what could be causing this just that he needed more fluids and we told her he drinks plenty of water daily. They made him walk, which we thought may have been a good sign, but he still looked so weak and in a great amount of pain.We got him home and he could barely make it into the house. He laid where we left him for the remainder of the day and could not get up. He refused water and food, therefore, the meds as well. He passed this morning and he was suffering. I wish our concerns would've been taken a little more serious. We were planning on bringing him back in today to be put to sleep because we just knew...trust your gut. You know your pet better than anyone else and we knew he was not okay.

Animal Health Associates has earned our business for both our livestock (cows, pigs, goats) and pet (dogs, cats) needs. I had been searching for almost a year for a livestock veterinarian, and somehow stumbled across Animal Health Associates. The lady that I first talked to back in October was so helpful and answered all of my questions. It was extremely reasonably priced for the vet to come out to our farm and establish care for our 3 cows, 3 pigs, and 2 goats. It was simple to get the prescriptions we needed to order supplies from Valley Vet. The vet also did an awesome job when I asked about false positive Bovine Leukemia Virus results in baby calves. We had recently had a 6 week old calf test positive for BLV. Shortly thereafter, we had a stray kitten show up at our house, and we wanted to make sure she was FeLV- before introducing her to our other cats. The vet that tested our kitten was warning me about false FeLV+ results in kittens (she tested FeLV-, so it wasn't a concern), but that got me wondering if our calf could also potentially be false BLV+. Our vet at Animal Health Associates did an awesome job of letting us know she wasn't sure if it worked the same way in baby calves, but that she would look into it and get back to me. Sure enough, later that day I had a voicemail follow-up from the vet with my answer (it does work the same, and we'll be retesting our calf in February for BLV once she's 6 months old). Today, Animal Health Associates was awesome again, when our kitten got her tail stuck in the couch. Our regular pet vet wouldn't see her, even though it was during their regular business hours. After calling around to a lot of different places with no luck, we finally decided to at least get her seen by the TSC vet. We were thinking her tail was partially degloved and broken, and needed someone to at least look at it and give us advice. While waiting at the Midland TSC, I thought of Animal Health Associates, and gave them a call. It was after hours by this time, but they were more than willing to come in to see her on an emergency visit. The TSC vet was able to get a better look at her with multiple hands on deck, and it turned out that our poor kitten was going to need her tail amputated, since it wasn't just partially degloved and broken. It was barely hanging on by a thread. So we drove to Mt. Pleasant to get our sweet Cleo in as soon as possible. We'll be picking her up in the morning, and we'll be getting all of our dogs and cats set up with regular checkups at Animal Health Associates. They've 100% earned our business and shown that they care about their patients, while our past vet has shown us the complete opposite over the last two years. I'm happy to have found a vet that cares about our animals like we do. Thank you, Animal Health Associates. I'll be recommending you guys to any of my friends with livestock or pets. After today's emergency, I know we can count on you when we need it most.

Lost my cat during critical treatment, went to great extent to explain situation. Barn cat knows no one else easily scared, & I'm more than willing & past veterinarian asst experience, I can help with care & treatment. Cat was prime of life, healthy, 6 yrs old, but exhibiting 2 days symptom urinary blockage. Needed to be catheterized, but they put a hard plastic cone on him to not pull out catheter & some time after 9:15 pm he got his paw thru neck band & panicked & by morning was down & unresponsive. Diagnosed he must have blown a blood clot choking himself,he was doing great before that. What part of barn cat don't u understand never had a collar, leash, or harness on before? Left a lone for 12 hours they would never recommend a client do that. My cat passed within the next 12 hours I am devastated. Suggest more modern protocol be planned like bottom pjs and not hard plastic collar cones. Update your protocol & know a client will take the overnight shift n bring patient back if necessary rather than leave alone. First time his instinct led him to demise.

I have combed the area for a vet that would care for my dog and take time with her and I. On the suggestion of a friend I decided to bring my dog here. I can not say enough how much this office has impressed me. Angel is in fantastic care.

If any of the vets see this I just have to say make sure your client the owner of the pet fully understands what type of medicine you are given out. When you say pill or liquid it doesn't really say everything. I get you might deal with it every day but other people do not. Liquid can mean least multiple things in medicine world. Perhaps a liquid that's a cream to put on fur? Fully explain its beneficial for your practice & clients.

I appreciate Dr. Krupsky helping me get my cat's international health certificate. The certified veterinarian at the hospital I used to go to had retired, making me unable to complete all the paperwork there. I went to many vet clinics in Mt.Pleasant, and no one wanted to provide this service for new clients. She is the only doctor who accepts new clients for the international health certificate. As an international student, my cat accompanied me through the toughest time of my study abroad, and I love him very much. Now that I've completed my undergraduate and graduate degrees, I can finally bring him home. Thank you so much!

Tried calling a local vet at 4:30pm on Friday to remove a fish hook from our Yorkies leg. They couldn’t and wouldn’t help because our baby was a patient there. Won’t ever watch another episode of Dr Pol………Found the Animal Health Associates on the internet. We explained our situation to the young lady , she put us on hold for a second, came right back and said please come right in we would love to help. When we walked in the door we were greeted with smiling faces and took us right into a room and help was given to our baby. It was so worth the drive. If we lived here permanently they would definitely be the place for us! Thank you so much for your smiles, kindness and for going above and beyond.

Over the two-plus years we've been taking our pets here, the staff and vets at Animal Health Associates have been incredible for our family with multiple dogs and cats!Everyone at AHA has been consistently professional, caring, and receptive to communication about the best treatment for our fur babies. They have been flexible in scheduling regular vaccinations and checkups, and very understanding and reasonable about prices for return visits after some recent emergencies for a few of our pets. For example, one of our cats recently had a health scare and the on call vet met with us after hours, assessed the status of our cat and determined the cat needed off-site emergency care. The vet asked us where we would like to go for this and called ahead to two facilities as we started our drive. This cat is showing improvement and has been treated with love and care on all return visits to AHA.AHA are also knowledgeable about specialized care needed for unique breeds of pets like our greyhounds. Recently one of our dogs had an injury and AHA has been very patient and helpful with our repeated calls and questions as the dog is recovering. We will be recommending them to as many people as we can.
