I have a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it went from running great to, after just a few days of sitting, literally nothing but a short click. Between my boyfriend, myself, and our amazing mechanic we have checked everything we thought it could possibly be and when we weren't getting anywhere my boss (and good friend of a few years) suggested taking to the Jeep dealer and having it diagnosed. My boyfriend went in talked to the appropriate people and was told they couldn't even get to "diagnosing" for about 2.5 weeks and just for said diagnosis it would cost $185, my boyfriend agreed and 2 weeks later we paid to have it towed to the dealership. My boyfriend then told them that if it could just be fixed for less than $400 to go ahead. So the morning after the appointment for the diagnosis I get a text message saying "my 06 Jeep Grand Cherokee is completed and the total is $298", so, silly me, I'm all excited, thinking my truck is fixed and the guessing game is over. However, I was wrong, they charged us $300 to tell us that it was the battery (which we already replaced before taking it to them) and the starter (which my mechanic had already put a power probe to and ruled that out cuz it would try to roll over then). So, with all that being said, they charged me over $100 more than they said they were going to and couldn't even tell me what was wrong with a vehicle that they are supposed to specialize in, im beyond disgusted with the service (or lack of) that we have received.
