This is a cute place and the staff is very friendly, but it was so dirty. We stayed for two nights. We would have stayed three, but I couldn't spend a other night there or shower there again. There was oatmeal in the bed, the soap on the sink and in the shower was used, there were no towels provided, and there was mold on the shower wall. The entire place needs a really good cleaning. When we told them, they did discount the room. As I said, the service was fantastic, but I would have never booked a room here had I known how dirty it would be.

Food is really good with a good price. The rooms are falling apart. Showers not great. Beds okay. The rooms are more for hunters who wouldn’t care about anything other than having a bed to sleep in. At $140 a night it should be $60 a night tops. The place could be re done on a budget and would be great. Way overpriced.

I had my wedding at the Nahma inn general store. Charlie did a good job keeping me up to date on plans and logistics. Laurie and the cooks made the best food (we did a taco bar). Everyone was very hospitable and kind. We left feeling like family.
If you’re looking for a place to have a small wedding (we had 55 people) definitely consider the general store. The compliments we got from guests at the reception include: “cozy” “unique” “historic” and “whimsical”.
Food and drinks: Many guests said the food was the best wedding food they had ever had.

Rooms: In desperate need of some TLC.
Clean but very worn....doesn't look like the photos on the website..
Also no tvs in rooms, but that bothered my husband more than me.
Food and drinks: Best steak I've had in a long time...well done to the 18 year old chef!!!! 10/10
Great bar tender and friendly locals.

The rooms are pretty basic but the price is fair. The staff is great and the food and drink is fine. They do need to take some time to clean up the building. It would make a big difference.

Really enjoyed this unique place! If your standards are high this is not the place for you! But if you love history, antiques and are otherwise adventurous you'll probably not be too squeamish about staying overnight here. The rooms are clearly dated but clean. The in-room bathroom fixtures are functional but rusty and rickety (our toilet bowl wobbled). The hallway carpet looked original and was pathetically worn out. Maybe the decision not to replace it is intentional; and perhaps in line with efforts to maintain the unpretentious "charm" of its historic status? The Inn is a bit off the beaten path, by about five miles. but near the water. There's a very nice boat launch behind it. The town is eerily quiet thought it has a very interesting history. A twice-abandoned self-contained company-created town. Initially developed by a major Michigan-based lumber company and later bought out by a major metal playground company. So, its once robust population has shrunk dramatically from its second heyday. There are many artifacts attesting to its history. The Inn itself, with its restaurant and live musical events (and maybe the "resort" behind it) is, no doubt, the main economic driver in the town. We stayed one night in the Inn. It's alleged that the Inn is haunted, if you're inclined to believe in such things, by “Nell” who died nearby or on-site. Nevertheless, we felt a bit spooked after sunset, being the only overnight guests there. In fact, we were told by a friendly staff member present the next morning that different ghost seeking groups stay at the Inn. If I ever decided to drive around Lake Michigan in its entirety again the Nahma Inn would be a planned overnight stop, because there's nothing else like it in the entire region.

The staff at the Inn were wonderful, the Continental Breakfast was scrumptious, rooms well cleaned and comfortable. Our dinner in the lounge was delicious with prompt friendly service. Great time had by all. We will be back for sure.
