DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE!! I put 900.00 down on a couch and because I did not call back they ended up selling the couch and they want to charge a 25 percent restocking fee on 2000.00 even though I put 900.00 down, so they sold the couch and want to take half of my money! How can they charge a restocking fee on money that was not paid? They should only take a 25% on money that was paid! Shunks will rip you off and keep your money any way they can!!

Sold me a broken brand new recliner. Refused to take it back said there was no return policy. He carried it up by the side loosening up the board underneath. I already paid them so had to take the loss. The 650 dollar chair lasted 2 years n the board gave it. Careful service with a smile isn't always the best service.

They are glad to take your money if you come in from 35 miles away. They charge $50 to deliver your furniture. But they won't bother to bring it until they have more than one in your area - no matter how long that might be. And they don't show any concern whatsoever.

I was gone to work and the guys delivering were working with my mother who is older. These guys who delivered were AMAZING not only did they CARRY my sofa down to my house, cause my drive way in the winter is made of icy quicksand basically, BUT when it didn’t fit in my door (sorry guys) these gentlemen SHOVELED the back door to my house. These guys. Solid 1000/10. They are so sweet and just went above and beyond! Thank u!

Out of the 1700 reviews that I have done so far on Google this will be my worst so far. I purchased a Bedset and was told it would be about 2 weeks for delivery did not show up in 2 weeks so the 3rd week I called and they said they need to wait until a truck is full to deliver it. Which makes no sense whatsoever because I paid a delivery charge. So besides the fact that it was extremely late even showing up when it finally did it came with no bed frame. I was told I needed to order it when I called them after delivery. Nobody told me in the 1st place I need to buy a bed frame with a bed set. Normally any bed set comes with bed frames also. The lady I spoke with that works there told me she was sorry and would have the sales person call me back which of course never happened. This has got to be one of the worst businesses I have ever seen and dealt with. I have purchased bedroom sets and bed sets many times and every single time they came with a frame. We even stated we were upgrading from a Queen. When I called and discussed this with the business they said it definitely should have been mentioned to me which means they are in the wrong and she admitted it So I cannot recommend this place to anybody at any time whatsoever. Besides the rudeness and incompetence it is just a bad business..

We purchased a reclining loveseat in April during their no payments for 12 months promotion. We were told it would be about a 4 month wait which was not a problem. We asked how the sale worked We were told, "it's simple no payments are due until your furniture is delivered". When went to have our recliner ordered we asked again how the program worked we were given the same response. We were told that a 25% down payment was required which also was no problem. We asked if making payments before receiving the furniture would be okay and were told yes. So we made monthly payments and in Juky we asked for a status and were told that it might be shipped the end of September. In the beginning of October we asked again we asked for status again and were told it's getting ready to be shipped. First week of November we called and asked status and were told it had arrived. Delivery was scheduled for the upcoming Friday. On Wednesday we received a call confirming delivery that Friday. On the day before delivery we got a call from an employee, "Linda " who told us since we had not completed the credit application delivery would not happen. We told her that at no time had anything about a credit application been discussed. She became very rude and told us that was our fault, the customer is responsible for requesting such information. When I told her we did, she still said "well if you don't come in and complete the application or finish paying then delivery is canceled. I drove the 100+ miles to the store and made the payment. I asked to speak with her, but she was not there.So to anyone considering making a purchase at this store make absolutely sure you ask about payment option and if you need to complete a credit application because according to Linda it's not the responsibility of store employees to explain things. It's the customer's responsibility. Oh one more thing to be treated as rudely as a we were it will be a long time before we shop there again and would recommend to anyone who asks that they shop elsewhere.

Went in looking for a new mattress. Was shown my options and given the opportunity to try them out. Found one I liked at a great price and was in, selected a product, checked out and gone in 30 minutes! Great service and am very pleased with my purchase.

Worst customer service ever. I bought a $1,000 powered rocker/recliner chair from Shunk Furniture in February and got it in May 2021. The power source quit two times since that time. The motor had to be replaced the last time. The owner of the store told me that I use the chair too much. It's not meant to be used that much. I'm single and live by myself. I use the chair in the evenings and I do sleep in it. The last time it was in for repairs it took 7 weeks to get the chair back. It was broke for 2 weeks prior to them picking it up. They picked it up and returned it to me at their convenience. Their store is 2 hours away from me. They have to have a full truck before they come up here.

The owners Carl and his son Carl Jr were rude and highly disrespectful. It's a fairly small community, as we had heard negative things about this business from others. We try to shop locally, but when treated like a second-class citizen we will take our business elsewhere. They treated us like we were below them. They gave off an arrogant attitude that immediately made us head for the door. Driving to Escanaba Heynssens-Selin's was no problem for us. We were met with professional service. We were allotted time to ask questions, as we did not once feel rushed, and we were treated with respect. Because of the well-known SHUMKS attitude they lost $6000 in business on this particular day.

Came in with intent to purchase. No one greeted us. Never seen an employee. We were in the building for 20-25 minutes. I will take my business elsewhere.
