I wish that they had the option to give zero Stars this is the worst loan facility I've ever had I am 63 years old and have a special needs son I have had a car loan with them since 2017 at the Inception of the car loan I listed the bank I had at the time when I changed Banks I immediately notified them now bear in mind this was the first month for 6 years I never made a late payment my last payment was due on the 23rd and they told me I had a 10-day grace period so I'm making my payment today and suddenly there is a $22 overdraft charge never bank with these people never trust these people they will add hidden fees and tell you nothing about them never in my life have I dealt with the facility like this they are saying I owed them this money since 2017 or 2018 that could affect my credit what is wrong with these people I have excellent credit my car is now paid off and I will never do business with them again never ever .

When I calmly left the credit union unhappy with a fee I got charged, I was told “You’re so cute”. I guess that was supposed to make me feel better. It did not.

Due to a bankruptcy, I am excluded from online banking access. I will still be able to access QuickPay to make my automobile loan payment, but after recently announced changes to online banking, no information will be saved, forcing me to enter everything manually each time, and will not be able to view payment history or any other information about my account.Great way to put yet another burden on someone already facing financial problems.I don't see what a bankruptcy has to do with online access to an existing account.Looks like the negative reviews are starting to pile up for this so-called financial institution.

Dennis is the most positive and helpful branch manager I have ever encountered in banking. He helped me through my truck loan and answered all of my questions. The loan has long been paid off but I will never forget the great experience I had doing business with this location.

I have been talking and working with Richard LaFeir at Michigan Schools and Government on Hall Road in Macomb County Michigan, he just goes way above and beyond with all types of financial questions that I have and asked. He is so patient and explains things too well for me in terms that I can understand. He never gets frustrated when I don't understand and he finds another way to break things down. He has helped me improve my saving find better ways to put my money where I get better interest rates and enabled me to invest in things that I have made some good money that I would have had not known if it was not for him. I am just so thankful for him and the advice. He goes beyond his job and he should be noticed for that. Thank you Michigan School Of Government for having a guy like Richard LaFeir he has helped me a lot.

They're okay for a bank just tired of their system constantly being down or not working so you can't get your money when you need it

Love the local customer service! You don't have to be a teacher or a government employee to bank here, and you can always talk to someone right away. Dianna is our favorite for any loan and banking needs. She handles the boats, the cars the mortgages. She goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable and confident about your decisions.

The reason for 3 stars is because my day was saved by a wonderful employee named Adrienne, if this review was for Adrienne it would be 5 stars. Unfortunately prior to meeting Adrienne I had an awful time dealing with someone else, I won't say any names but basically I've been with MSGCU since I was old enough to get a bank account and the branch manager I dealt with at the new Baltimore location was treating me like I shouldn't involve them with figuring out how to close my auto loan on my vehicle. Long story short they may have lost a 11 year customer, if it wasn't for Adrienne I would've closed my account and gave this review 1 star.

I am a MSGCU member who came here to get a letter notarized. I waited my entire lunch hour, and then some, and had to leave without the document being notarized. Such a simple thing. If you are going to say that you have a notary available, then don't have them doing loans and mortgages that take so much time, or allow people to schedule appointments. Our time is valuable too. Now I am 45 minutes late coming back from lunch and accomplished little.Update-Bank Manager, Morgan, called me within hours to apologize for the delay. That is good customer service. Thank you!

I reluctantly decided to finance my vehicle with this union and if you're thinking about having them do yours, RUN. RUN. RUN. Not only has working with them been the worst experience I've ever had with a financial institution, but working with them has also negatively impacted my credit. Payment processing is an absolute disaster, customer service is even worse. For MONTHS, I was getting called that I was past due on "late payments", every month I would call and pay said "late payments" time and time again. Paying over $100+ in these "late fees" every month since October. (My payment has been set to auto pay since Oct. 2022) Low and behold, I talked to them AGAIN this month (April 2023) and was informed they decided to add insurance payments to my loan payment without my permission which brought my payment up to almost $700 a month. On top of all that, they charge you extra to pay via phone, debit or credit card. OH, when you get hit with late fees you have to pay, you cant just pay the fee online then set up your auto payment. You have to wait for 3-5 business days to set up the payment. All around absolute clown-town over here. I would RUN anywhere else with your money.

First off hats off to Lisa in auto loans. She tryed so diligently to assist me yesterday. Been with Michigan Schools & Govt over 5 yrs. And was treated quite unfair and extremely unprofessional. Top that off even Branch Mgr. Eric went to bat for myself. After doing the best I could monthly to pay my loan which is 287 a mth. I was paying as best as possible 300 almost monthly to be denied by text initially. Not even a phone call to discuss the matter. So I will only pay 287 a month til my loan is payed off. A few of my friends prior had left the credit unions because of their attitude. I personally was disappointed my friends left. Now because of the way I was handled ill be leaving as well once this is payed off. In reading the reviews how ironic they answer the good responses by far then addressing but a few the ones that need a closer look on how they can be a better credit union.

Absolutely atrocious operation. One hand doesn't know what the other is doing!!! Instead of dealing with problems of there own creation, they finger point at each other when they should be attempting to fix their own mistakes. Four months of back and forth with them on a simple paperwork issue they messed up. Scary that they handle money on a daily basis. Incredibly unprofessional. The mortgage "expert" at the Macomb branch is particularly inept. They don't even deserve one star!

Usually love this place. But today three people working in cubes and I'm left waiting. They are more artful than waitresses in avoiding eye contact.
