Niles District Library has been serving the Niles community since 1904, offering free access to a large collection of over 89,000 items, including books, DVDs, Library of Things, and more. The library provides a wide range of programs for all ages, from traditional activities like storytime, book clubs, and technology assistance to modern offerings such as gaming, concerts, and art programs. It features a maker space, private rooms for work, a seed library, and a toy area for children, making it a versatile and family-friendly space. Visitors appreciate the helpful and kind staff and enjoy amenities like air conditioning, Wi-Fi, maps, and plenty of seating. The children's section is especially popular, with a notable selection of graphic novels and toys for kids to enjoy. Many find the library to be a beautiful and relaxing place to get away and spend time, whether for reading or just relaxing. However, some concerns have been raised about noise levels caused by certain visitors, which can sometimes disrupt the peaceful environment. Additionally, there is a sense that the library’s collection could benefit from more up-to-date materials, especially regarding modern topics like digital art, NFTs, and online selling, as current offerings are mostly older books. Despite these minor issues, the library remains a beloved community hub that offers free programs for kids and adults, making it a valuable resource for education, entertainment, and community engagement.
Staff are so friendly. They have so many programs for kids. They even have a makers lab where you can use their 3d printing machine. I've visited libraries in nearby towns, and this is the best one I've come across. They have so many resources too. So nice.

Great library, much to offer. Programs, maker space, private rooms to work, books, like lots of books, free programs for kids and adults, air conditioned and Wi-Fi, seed library, maps, copier, lots of seating.

The staff is wonderful and very helpful and kind! They have a wonderful toy area for kids to play in and computers for the kids to use! And they have great classes/ programs for all ages to take part in!!. My family loves going here!!
