I finally found milkweed!!! I've been searching since spring. I even tried to grow by seed with no success. Now I can contribute to the repopulation of monarchs. So excited!

Absolutely AMAZING greenhouse. I took my parents there yesterday for annual flowers and vegetables plants. They have an amazing selection and very reasonably priced. You will not be disappointed.

I have been wanting to get a hibiscus for a long time and decided to buy at a nursery instead of a street vendor because when you pay $30 for one plant you would prefer a guarantee, even though I have a green thumb. It wasn't blooming in the fall when I purchased it, but I wasn't concerned since it lays dormant through the winter. I planted up by my house, gave it miracle grow, trimmed and covered it, yet spring came around and all I had was a stick. I attempted to return for an exchange for a live one and they say there was a 60 day guarantee. Really? Bullcrap! How can a person know in 60 days when it lays dormant that entire time?! So glad I didn't buy my son one too! This was my first and last visit to Varner's!! I would've had better luck with the street vendor, AND he was cheaper! Don't go here unless you want overpriced dead plants! Oh, and all the plant growing products were cheaper on Amazon and other stores than here! The one picture is their dead hibiscus and the others are just a few of my beautiful flower beds with some flowers not even up yet.

On my first visit to Varner's, I can only say it is impressive! The lanes are easy to navigate and well thought out; everyone who shopped there was taken care of, and there was no pushing and shoving. I was there on a Wednesday, but I did visit another local nursery and one of the things they do is open 1 hour early for the elderly, so maybe Varner's could do that also in the future? I did notice that some elderly visitors with walkers and canes did have some difficulty getting around inside the nursey main aisle areas. There was a great selection of plants, windchimes, windmills, potting soil, and everything you could want from a nursery. I was there around 10AM and the parking lot was nearly full, so if you're an older shopper, I would call them and ask when would be the best day and time to visit. Overall I gave them 5 stars and honestly, if there was an option for more I would; I did ask some simple questions to the staff and cashiers just to check their temperament and I was happy to see they were very passionate about their work, overly nice, and accommodating. 5 STARS and MORE, great place and I will be back.

Great selection and prices. Got got 2 beautiful ferns for $13.50. They have a new thing that shows you exactly how to make a planter on your own. This is a new feature this year and I think it's fantastic. Shows shade sun etc, what plants with examples. Tara was the greatest helper ever!

Not super happy with this place. I was so excited as my trip in there was the first time I’d ever been there. There was a TON of stuff and I was so excited. I ended up purchasing two flowering baskets for a little over 50.00 and they were beautiful. I brought them home and within 24 hours noticed the flowers were turning brown. I watered them making sure not to over water them and it just kept getting worse. The flowers started to die and within three days the plants were completely dead. I called and spoke to someone who said to take the heads of the dead flowers off so I did unfortunately that was most of the flowers. At the one week point I called and spoke with a manager who told me to bring the baskets in and he would take a look at them. I loaded up the dead baskets and drove back to the place. When I got there the man I spoke with said he was to busy to come look at the plants and told his employee to tell me sorry there was nothing he could do!!! I am not so much upset that the flowers died within 72 hours but more upset about there customer service. I then went to McKinley Terrace in Mishawaka and found the exact same baskets and grabbed two of them and when I got to the counter I was told by the associate that I should wait to but then because it’s just still to cold for them and they wouldn’t make it! Well that was helpful! Wish the people at Verners would have told me the same thing instead of just taking my money on something they knew wouldn’t last! I’ll be taking my business else where. Thanks but no thanks on 50.00 baskets that will be dead in three days.

I discovered Varner’s plants when they were a vendor at the Elkhart Farmer’s Market last summer (2022). I believe Varner’s supplies some of the areas HEALTHIEST plants I’ve seen! I purchased two Knockout Rose bushes last year, one from a big box store and one from Varner’s, and the plant from Varner’s did substantially better in terms of growth, development and overall health. Varner’s plants look so natural ? this place is a GEM!100/10 GO HERE!!

Lots of pumpkins when I went before Halloween. Also, the nursery had lots of plants. Parking was a little bit confusing, but I figured it out after pulling into the wrong parking lot. There are two entrances to the 2 parking lots. Look for the one with lots of cars.
