So easy for a day pass. Don't even need to call ahead or purchase in advance as they have a QR code at the door to pay the $10 fee and immediately get an access code. I am excited this is around as I travel to TVC a couple of times a year.

Great local gym at a very reasonable price. Membership gets you access to the Northport location and another one located in what I would call northwest TC (on M22 at Cherry Bend). The TC one is much larger, but I usually went to Northport because it is 10 mins closer for me. The owner maintains the equipment well, there is a wide variety of equipment, and the gym is kept clean and organized. The GymMaster app makes joining, payment, and access easy. Also, the owner is easy to reach via text, responding within minutes if not sooner. -- Note: I posted this as a review of the Northport gym (Northport Fitness) and the TC gym (Gateway Fitness), since it applies to both

I’ve been coming here for years in the summers and it’s always met my needs. However, this year it’s become part of another, more modern organization and it makes it so much better.Newer equipment, electronic entry and access all day. It’s great.

It's called; stay mad or get over it! It's as close as your mother's back yard.

I felt that it was only right to drop a review for Northport Fitness, since it hasn't had a single one as of yet.. and I had such an awesome experience! This was the third summer in a row that I had come up to Northport with my girlfriend's family, and I had always been curious about this spot. From the outside, you cannot see much of the gym/fitness center so I was uncertain of equipment selection, weights, etc.! To be honest, I missed out by not going in prior to my first visit. Northport Fitness is a hidden gem in Northern MI for the avid gym-goer. I follow a "power-building" approach when it comes to fitness, and I was more than pleased with the equipment selection. Full functional power rack with enough weight in metal plates to amass over 400lbs on the barbell (if need be). The dumbbells range up to a respectable weight, and there is a solid selection of plyometric accessories. There is a fully outfitted cardio section, but I was most impressed with the spread of machine equipment (old school Nautilus & a couple of other brands). One might argue these golden era machines are a delicacy in the gym community. It's only $10 for a day pass, and if you're in need of a nice workout while on vacation - this is your spot. I'll be back next summer, and I cannot wait!

I paid just under $200 for one night in this “hotel.†That was a splurge but worth it. Very nice room with balcony. Central location. There is no 24 hour reception but that was not a problem. Easy short walk to beach area. Great restaurants across the street. The view from the balcony is mostly a rooftop with a bit of beach beyond. But the balcony is spacious and enjoyable. It was a good night on a great coastal town.

I didn't actually stay here because of the following but potential guests need to know who they will be dealing with if they are foolish enough to stay here. My cousin booked a room for me last March for Thanksgiving. She paid the first night in advance. The day before I was scheduled to arrive I looked at the website for the first time and noticed that I was the only guest at the hotel. I also found out that there is nobody manning the front desk and I would be all alone in a hotel with 10 plus rooms. Furthermore the outer door was not going to be locked. I told my cousin I wouldn't feel comfortable there and to cancel for me. When she did she was forcedto pay for the second night as the entire stay was non cancellable at the last minute. When I returned home I wrote a note to the hotel asking for an exception. The ownerwrote and offered me a credit to use in the future. Since I had no plans to return to the area I declined and e mailed him to please reconsider. I explained that as a travel agent I was successful 99% of the time in having hotels make exceptions and refund my clients for non refundable rooms. I also explained that he didn't lose anything by my cancellation. It wasn't as if the hotel was sold out and he turned away other guests who might have wanted my room. He never had the courtesy to reply to my e mail in early December. Then last week I sent a copy of that e mail and again asked him to reconsider. He ignored me again. I don't know about you but when an owner is that rude and rigid in his policies I would never stay there or give him any business. This miserable human being doesn't deserve any further business and I hope Trip Advisor readers will boycott his Inn. I have never given a bad review to a hotel before but this place screams out for it!

We had a last minute family event and needed a room as close to Northport as we could get. Luckily for us two rooms were available on short notice so we booked them both. The rooms were very tastefully decorated with modern decor. Our room was very small and the decor was of the minimalist nature which was fine. The bathroom was very modern and impressive, but (like one other reviewer noted) there was no place to,put your toiletries. We had a street view which I thought was quaint. Note: this hotel is a renovated storefront. Not sure how old the building is, but it is considered a historic building). It was right before the restaurant opened for the summer season so we walked to Barb's Bakery for their famous cinnamon twist (a must try - wonderful!). We bought our cinnamon twists and coffee and brought them back with the idea of eatin on the veranda with is through a door at the end of the hall and for all guests. The veranda is along the water view side of the building, but it runs along the windows of rooms that are occupied by other guests. We were really uncomfortable being in front of other guests Windows and attempted to move a mid size table to a spot that would not interfere with anyone's privacy. Big mistake! The top of the table came off and the bottom clattered to,the floor making a HUGE noise! We felt really bad because someone on a vacation might be trying to sleep in. So we abandoned those plans and took our breakfast back to our room to eat, but there was no table in our room so we had to sit on the bed. They do have a fitness center, but we didn't have time to try it because of family commitments. It is included with your room price. With the exception of the veranda incident, we were pretty pleased with the place.
