Peterson Park offers a peaceful, scenic spot on Lake Michigan with a rocky beach and beautiful views. Visitors can enjoy clean restrooms, a well-maintained picnic area, and a playground for kids. The access to the beach involves walking down 50 to 60 feet via dirt and wood stairs, with safety handrails. The terrain is rocky, with lots of large pebbles and small boulders, making good shoes and walking sticks helpful. The area is quiet, with no cell service, perfect for relaxing or rock hunting, where petosky stones can be found. Visitors should watch out for spiders that live among the rocks. Overall, it’s a great place to hang out, enjoy nature, and spend time with family.
It's a great place to go hangout, very peaceful and great views. If you love rock hunting like me, it's also a great spot for that as well! Just watch out for the rock spiders lol!
