The owner is antagonistic towards customers and is also actively involved in trying to make Northville’s downtown a worse place. Do not support.
Ironically, the only reason I’ve been to their store is because I walked by during open streets - the very initiative they want to shut down.

I came into this store knowing I was larger than the sizes offered. I asked for a review on a product. They were very honest with that review and didn't try to force a sale. They also offered and helped me secure my top before I left the store. This was such a pleasant experience.

I will not shop here anymore.
After seeing the younger employees talked down to, witnessing catty behavior from management, and feeling a cold, “exclusive” vibe as I enter the store, it’s just not worth it. It is misleading, in my opinion, to name a store after a Beatles song, and then have a negative vibe. Clothes are cute, but overpriced and most are made in China. Northville is a charming town and City. This shop is not representative of Northville or the welcoming environment I see at other shops in town.

Terrible customer service. Specially the arrogant and rude owner, who doesn’t know (or care) how to respect customer. They claim to be “small business” and they take full advantage of that. Any small complain you make they immediately become so rude and disrespectful. Will never shop again here and hope they learn how to do business while respecting customer.

when I ripped my pajama pants and after going to five different stores to get try to get them fixed, the store manager Laurie was able to fix them without making me pay a single penny. Laurie I appreciate you very much. keep on doing what you do. Again thank you so much and have a very blessed day.

I visited Dear Prudence for the first time last week, eager to support a local small business, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I purchased two sweaters, and after wearing one for just a single day (sitting at a desk for 8 hours), it looked extremely worn—I believe it had to be defective. The sweater was $100, and now it’s completely unusable. I returned to the store today to exchange it, but was only offered a store credit for the unworn sweater. What really frustrated me was that the store would not stand behind the quality of the damaged sweater, leaving me with no resolution. I understand mistakes happen, but given the price and the condition of the sweater, I expected better customer service.
I've never written a negative review before, but I felt compelled to after being unable to speak directly with the store owner (who, I was told, is based in Alabama). Unfortunately, because of this experience, Dear Prudence has lost a customer. I hope that the owner reaches out to me to come to a more satisfactory resolution to this issue. I believe the employees working today felt bad that they were unable to offer me a better solution.

I have shopped here many times before but the customer service was awful on my last visit a month ago. A young female worker was working the counter and never greeted us, which was fine. A caucasian woman walked in after us and was promptly greeted in a warm way. As I tried to make eye contact while passing the cashier station, the young cashier/sales girl, never even looked at us. My mom and I quickly left understanding that that action was done overtly and deliberately. We then knew we were not welcome.
The next day, I called for the owner, was given her email address, wrote her in hopes that I would get a response, and never got one. I am so sad that I will not be able to visit this store anymore.
I wish that all people, of all ethnicities, could be greeted there, equally.

My daughter bought a sweater from Dear Prudence for Christmas! It was a size small but is "huge!" Today, January 20th, I brought it back! The salesperson said that they have a policy that all returns must be made by January 7th - and she read that off of the gift receipt! now, I have no problem with their policy, but when I spoke to my daughter, she said she was not made aware of it! The store has every right to make their own policies, but the customer has the right to be made aware of that policy at the time of the purchase! I left the sweater at the store and left! Nothing from the salesperson!

I came in looking for a gift for my mother. Although they have cute things, I was extremely disappointed that not one lady working here bothered to say hello to me or ask me if I needed help. This is sad considering there were only two other people in the store with me at the time.

This store has been my favorite in all of Northville to shop at for years! Staff is so personable and friendly, always willing to help. Their clothes are adorable and I fall in love with multiple pieces every time I’m their and there's always something their for everyone. The best clothing store in all of Northville!!

Great local store, HIGHLY recommend!! My daughter and I have been going to this store since they opened. The service has ALWAYS been friendly and inviting. The ladies there we give an honest opinion and if you try something on that isn't quite right for you, they will let you know. We never feel like they try to sell. They want you to be happy when you leave. Always happy to go back and support a great local business!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Love this store!! The staff are always helpful and give their honest opinion if something doesn’t fit quite right. They are very knowledgeable if a brand leans small or runs large and suggest sizing up or down accordingly. I have always had an amazing experience here.
