I scheduled an appointment online about a week prior to my appointment. I showed up ~3 minutes late to my appointment and the person intaking me complained that they had been trying to call me because I needed to fill out new patient paperwork prior to arriving. Apparently, this is filling in my name, address, and the last 4 digits of my social security number to verify my insurance. However, because this form wasn't completed prior to arrival, and I was *3* minutes late, they informed me I would have to reschedule to another time (about 1 hour later) and they wouldn't be able to see me.No thanks.If this basic information is needed for new patient intake, I suggest you incorporate it into your online scheduling platform. This is information that can easily be provided online at the first initial point of contact. If for some reason you cannot update your intake methods, you should rely on more than just calling people to get this information. I received 4 text messages reminding me of my appointment. I even confirmed my appointment in one of these text messages. I see now that I had the option to "Check In", but nothing in the confirmation message states that this is absolutely a requirement before arriving. If this is so important, communicate that in your reminder text messages.Life happens. I just moved here and have a lot going on so I was three minutes late to my appointment. Telling me to reschedule is terrible customer service and for medical professionals a clear lack of compassion for your patients. I have 24 other vision options available to me that is happy to take my ~$500 per year that I spend between contacts, glasses, and preventative care.Good luck and I hope this feedback is helpful for preventing issues like this in the future.

Very friendly staff. The GM, Roni was especially helpful. There was a misunderstanding with the insurance and she helped me figure it all out without getting frustrated or being rude. It’s been a long time since I’ve came across a person with customer service skills like that. I was pleasantly surprised and left feeling very satisfied about my experience! Definitely the go to location in the Muskegon area.

Dr Sofia Johnson connected right away with my child and gave us more info than I've ever received before! Very friendly and easy going eye exam with new high tech equipment! Office folks were equally delightful, very chatty and friendly. Treated my child very well. Definitely planning on returning every year!

I was not able to take my elderly mother to her appointment but a friend was. I spoke with her the next day and could not stop telling me wonderful the staff was there. They explained everything so she could understand and let her talk and ask questions. I appreciate the fact your staff went above to take care of my mom.

It is an enjoyable experience to get my eye exam at Rx Optical. I go each year for many years to the office on Apple. First time in office on Henry. Highly recommend both.
