Bought $200 worth of fake flowers for my wedding and was told I could return them even with the store closing. Came back two weeks to return about $100 worth and was told they’re not accepting returns.

Went shopping on 12/30 to hit the X-mas sales. I had a whole cart full and when I got up to the front there were 20 people in line in front of me. Only 1 cashier, Annie who is always AMAZING with her positive attitude and taking care of the guests. She kept calling for back up but no one would come to help her. The line made it to the back of the store as the system also kept going down. Annie kept her cool, I did not I bailed on my cart as I had an appt to get to. Such a shame that this store is so understaffed and that they only person that shows up takes the abuse.

Understaffed and nothing listed in stock is unpacked - material/stock isn’t unpacked but is on the floor but the shelves are empty. Can’t blame the staff when only two people are staffed.

Don’t ever buy a sewing machine here.
They sold us a crazy expensive Viking Sewing Machine that needs regular service and now they don’t have the repair center here. Turns out it wasn’t them. Even though it was in their store.
Buyer Beware at the Joanne Fabric Flea Market. Who knows who they will “rent space to” next time.
So disappointing.

In search of specific florals, I was excited to find a bulk amount of them at this store. However, the cashier wearing sunglasses could not have been more rude.
Standing in line like everyone else, she says 3 x that "You with the mess, I'll help you next"
Okay I heard you, but you're still helping someone.
Register opens next to her so I start walking over there, and she jumps "No! I'll help you next. I'm not letting her deal with that"
e.e
okay, I pull my cart back and "Park" behind her line to wait. When it was finally my turn, she runs from behind the counter. I start unloading less-important items (things I'm only buying depending on the total), and when I mention this she's like "I Know. That's what I'm doing!" What? You're currently not holding anything and how could you know that.. She runs over to get a cart and tells me she has no bags. I'm like... no bags? Not even a trash bag?
Now. I've got over 400 of these strands of garland at home. It might look like a mess, but 40 strands is nothing and it's super easy to string them over the counter with tags hanging towards the cashier for them to count (if needed) and tie a bag around the center of the garland.
I try asking the lady, you don't have any bags? Not even a tiny one or a trash bag? (I see pick up orders in trash bags behind the counter)
No. None.
?? Okay.
If Joanns, or this store specifically, is going bag-free, they should just post it somewhere. When I was here a month ago, they told me they were running out of bags and had to use a trash bag, which was fine. But no bags? I would have brought some trash bags; it was raining outside and I had over 40 strands of garland to shove in the car. Literally if she suggested I buy one of the super large ones they have for sale, I totally would have gotten 2... But they're not prominent at checkout like they should be.
Back to the story;
After she gets the cart, she brings it over and starts throwing the floral into the second (smaller) cart, and says something along the lines of not having to handle the floral twice... but if you looked at the cart, 9 floral garland were already filling that cart up... 40+ total, it wasn't going to work.
She gets flustered by a question I asked (I was still trying to describe that you could just tie a bag around them to hug them together), said she already knew what I was trying to ask but that there are zero bags. Okay whatever. Now she's lost count on the garlands and mumbles about something bag related and yells for the next register to take care of me instead. I ask if she even knew how many were in the cart and she said No. So like, see why this was a bad process lady? It was unnecessary, the cart and the attitude. So she then tried to help the next lady in line, but tried to force her to move to a different/unopened register... so it was being slow to log-in. She literally left the registers, now leaving a line building and this other lady standing at her register.. Says something about going to find bags.
So the next register smiles and says she can help, we pull the garland out of the cart and line them up on the counter, count them, pay, leave. Literally so easy with zero complaints. The lady with sunglasses came back when we were counting the last color and literally just stood there repeating herself that the box she had delegated to us was over there and available. She seriously said it 5 times while we were mid-count. We heard you, take care of other guests. On her way back over, she shouted something about the bags and then mumbled "Oh, I said the quiet part out loud"
When I brought my cart back inside, I glance over and notice she was back to her original register and process was back to normal. Cashier in sunglasses was unnecessarily focused on my order a

Worst customer service!! The 3 sewists who work upstairs (2 of which claimed to be managers - lol) obviously have ZERO understanding of their job responsibilities. When my husband and I asked 2 of them how much fabric they would recommend for 6 chairs , the answer was (by one of them) "I don't know and Im not supposed to do that". I asked her then why is she there if she cannot advise customers. She claimed she is ONLY there to cut!! I said I can cut myself. She said "you don't have scissors". I told her I can buy or bring my own scissors if thats' that case. I asked for a manager. She claims she IS the manager. The second sewist jumped in and claimed to be a manager too. I started laughing said, "wow, too many managers and nothing and no employees to manage???!". What are they managing - who gets to hold a pair scissors? The third sewist was also obnoxiously rude and instead of helping customers, all three of them were bossing customers around. All 3 of them had name tags and were called "sewist" . Yes, they were young - and power hungry and I knew none of them has any experience dealing with customers let along claim to be "managers" . When we questioned their abilities to do anything (other than hold scissors) and told them that service we received at the White Lake store was completely opposite, they became even more disrespectful. The sewist at another store was actually our CONSULTANT, but unfortunately advised us to go to Novi location because Novi is a bigger store and White Lake did not have many options for our choice of fabric. I knew they lied and decided to go downstairs to customer service and get the name of the "real manager(s)" and the Corporate's phone number. Luckily, the nice cashier downstairs gave me all information I asked for -- the same information I asked the 3 sewists upstairs and did not get it. I was told that there IS no manager on duty today because she was out sick.

They cut the fabric half inch shorter instead of longer. Today, the lady that was helping me said she was advised to be super careful when cutting to not to cut longer!!!
I will never come back to such an overpriced store, I can find lower prices from online stores.

I ordered an online pick up order for items that all showed in stock. I picked up 1/4 of my order that week. The rest of my order has been and is still being shipped to Joann (Novi) in pieces over the past few weeks. I never ordered delivery or for anything to be shipped. Everything showed “in stock” at the Novi location.
With each delivery the status says “ship to home” and they’re charging my credit card! It’s NOT. It’s being delivered to the Novi store and they’re fraudulently charging me and keeping my order.
I called the Novi store and it just rings and rings after the first automated message. I called customer service and was on the phone over an hour and a half with no results. I emailed, with no results! Ridiculous!
It’s fraud and against the law! Talk about a corrupt company. I’ll be taking action and will go longer be a shopping there. This is absolutely insane.
First of all, how does a store receive shipments they clearly didn’t order then just keep them? Corrupt!
Secondly, how do you charge a person when they’re not in possession of any of the merchandise and argue by saying it’s being “shipped to home” when clearly it’s going to Joann. Learn to use Google and see the address it’s going to is their own store not a residential address in a completely different city!

It's disappointing when you try to support local stores but realize the only way to get the stuff you need is to shop online. If I have to shop online I'm going to comparison shop for lowest price and quickest delivery.
