Bought my engagement ring on a short trip to Michigan. I don't know much about jewelry and pricing but felt I got a reasonable deal. They had a very unique ring that caught my eye and the fiancé said "yes" and loved it so thank you Wheat Jewelers!

Kevin and Archie at Wheat Jewelers are amazing. My husband and I have been purchasing jewelry from them for over 20 years. They always provide outstanding service and high quality jewelry. Last weekend I broke a prong on my ring and lost the diamond. They had a replacement diamond in stock and had my ring fixed faster than I ever could have expected. I highly recommend Wheat and they are my first thought for all my jewelry needs/wants! Thank you again Kevin and Archie for all your help!

Both employees I worked with were very snobby. I needed a necklace repaired so I went to Wheat only to have one when dropping it off and the other picking it up comment on the weight of my necklace. Very inappropriate and unprofessional what a shame.

My husband is a watch collector . I love diamonds and fine gems. We've had great service at several jewelry stores over the years, but Wheat Jewelers isn't one of them. I stopped in to buy my daughter a birthday gift. As I'd never been there before, or since Covid, I didn't know you had to make an appointment. We knocked on the door and they let us in, but not without ensuring we knew we didn't have an appointment. We had several questions about a special order item we wanted, and the answers were vague, and the man I believe to either be a manager or an owner (he never gave us his name) didn't make eye contact and seemed annoyed with our questions. Against my better judgment, and because I had some guilt over them letting us in without an appointment, we ordered an item from an online catalog. When it came in, it was less than impressive; it looked cheap and was so fragile for the price they charged us. My daughter went back into the store to voice her concerns over the quality of the piece. They said they would call us back with options later in the week. Long story short, they did....sort of. Once. Only because they had questions about her receipt that they didn't address while she was in the store. The same man that didn't make eye contact with me was rude on the telephone and didn't call me back to address our concerns. We will never be back.

I have been a customer of Wheat's since 2001 and will not go anywhere else. From watches and jewelry for myself to the custom engagement ring they made and now the custom wedding ban that we are working on to match the engagement ring for my fiancé...Kevin, Archie and the entire staff are extremely professional and only want the best for their customers. I've been in sales for over 20 years and have never felt pressured or "sold". I feel like they don't want my money...they want my business and they have it! I can give nothing but rave reviews. I've never had an issue with any jewelry repairs and I tell everyone I know who's looking to go there. Though no one is perfect, I have not had an issue with any of the business dealings I've had at Wheat. Not to mention they remember me by name every time I stop in (...and it's not as often as it sounds lol). I would recommend Wheat to anyone who wants to buy the best quality from people who want to EARN your business and stand by their product. Raving fan!

My fiancé went to Wheat Jewelers in March 2015 to purchase my engagement ring. If I were rating my experience solely based on that, I'd be inclined to give a much higher rating. The ring is beautiful. On top of that, when we returned in December to purchase the wedding band, the staff person (a woman, I can't recall her name) was wonderful. She remembered my fiancé, was polite, kind, and professional. Because we live out in California now, we asked them to ship the ring to us, and they did so. I was slightly annoyed that they didn't ask us when we wanted it shipped (they said they would), because someone needed to be there to sign for it, and I couldn't that day. Fortunately, my fiancé was able to rearrange his schedule and signed for the ring. When we opened it, the ring was obviously and noticeably BENT. It's a small band, and it was literally bent. I'm shocked they sent it out. Although it could still be put on a finger, it wasn't even close to being straight. I can't believe they sent it out in that condition. I contacted the staff and they sent a shipping label for me to send the ring back. They emailed me to let me know it arrived. Once they examined it, the staff member stated, "It is designed to have a subtle curve at the top but I do see the extra bend at the bottom. I'll have the goldsmith take care of it for you." They then contacted me when it was repaired, and asked for an address where to ship it. I sent them the same address, again (don't you have that on file?). This time around, they said they couldn't do overnight shipping (although they had before). They shipped my ring. I'm waiting for it to arrive. Notice: I didn't receive an apology for all of this until I asked. No one else seemed bothered that they shipped out a bent piece of jewelry. This is something that I'll be wearing the rest of my life, and no one seemed the slightest bit concerned about it. Although the staff was polite, they didn't in any way go out of their way to alleviate any of my (new and seemingly justified) concerns about the quality of their work. Once I asked for an apology, I got one, but really, should I need to ask? Doesn't this bother anyone else? I'm still waiting to receive my band back from repairs, but honestly, the entire experience left me feeling nervous about what I am going to receive. On top of that, if you send out shoddy work, at least have the decency to apologize without the customer prompting for it. I recognize this is far from the most expensive wedding band they've ever made, but nonetheless, shouldn't quality be a concern? At this point, there's nothing they can do. The ring was shipped in the condition it was shipped. But really, none of this should have happened in the first place. I'm not terribly inclined to shop there again.

Be careful when using Wheat for jewelry repair. I dropped off a ring to get a quote on resizing, and after I left they went ahead and did the work without confirming the price or checking with me to confirm the work order. The salesperson was unapologetic and did not offer a refund, even though eventually admitting it was a mistake after we reviewed the entire situation. The quality of the work was fine, so the experience was not a complete negative. Be VERY CLEAR if you just want a quote, otherwise they might just do the work without asking or giving you a price.

Thank you Wheat Jewelers for our incredible wedding rings! Both of our rings were custom made and impeccable so. They are gorgeous and exactly what we wanted. We worked most closely with Kevin who clearly loves his craft and his customers. I was especially grateful for time and energy he spent with me and designing my ring. We live in NYC and did the process almost entirely through emails and phone calls. My ring was tricky as I was battling several metal allergies and needed to have my heirloom diamonds from the original engagement ring reset into a custom made, allergy free metal. It was no piece of cake, ladies and gentlemen! He was patient and helpful every step of the way (he even took the time to chat with me while on his family vacation when a new allergy emerged half way through the process!). We couldn't be more please or recommend Wheat Jewelers more highly! Don't over think it. Go to Wheats.

If you want a ring altered, DO NOT GO HERE. The jewelry technician won't listen to your requests. My boyfriend got me a promise ring with a cursive engraving on the inside of our anniversary. The ring was a little too big, so I went to Wheat to get it sized. I told the man specifically to not cut through the engraving and he seemed a little annoyed to go through the "extra work" to not ruin the engraving, however, he definitely got the message not to ruin it. I got a call later that said that they had cut through the engraving and they would engrave it again free of charge. When I got the ring back, it was no longer my beautiful cursive engraving. It looked like a caveman engraved it. My engineer dad could do a better job. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. They ruined my special ring and they seemed not to care at all.

We bought my custom engagement ring here about 4 years ago. Just recently one of the prongs broke slightly around the diamond and I was afraid the diamond would come loose. We moved to the Novi area and Jewelers around us were quoting us around $400 to fix it. We called Wheat, stopped in, and they fixed it for us right then, free of charge. They're great people to work with! Not pushy at all and always really helpful.

If I could give Wheat Jewelers more stars, I would! We recently got engaged, and my fiance proposed with my grandmother's diamond engagement ring and wedding band, which were soldered together. We wanted to take the diamonds and the silver from the band and have it recreated into an engagement ring that is mine, but uses my grandmother's diamonds. I was apprehensive to take the ring anywhere and let someone work on it since it's such an heirloom piece. From the minute we walked into Wheat's, I was absolutely comfortable with them. Kevin Wheat, the owner, came out and talked to us and never did I feel like he was trying to sell us something we didn't want or upcharge us or anything the like that. The man is a designer! He immediately won my engineer-Fiance over when he took us into his office and started drawing up designs on Auto Cad. The best, and most reassuring, part was that we were able to see a wax model of the ring before he melted it down and recreated it. Everything was timely and professional, and I wouldn't change a thing about our experience with Wheat's. We will absolutely be going back for my fiance's wedding band and also to have Kevin create my wedding band from my other's grandmother's diamonds. Don't shop for fine jewelry anywhere else!

Anyone to work with the team at Wheat Jewelers won't be disappointed!! Wheat Jewelers has become my family's jeweler over the years. They have always been amazing in helping us to celebrate the big moments in our lives. Since I haven't lived in the Lansing area for several years, when the time came for my engagement, I didn't think I would end up with a ring from Wheat. Much to my surprise when my boyfriend popped the question, my BEAUTIFUL ring was presented in the classic ivory box from Wheat. I was stunned... for more reasons that one! How did my boyfriend get a ring in Michigan? We live in Boston! Turns out that he had been working with Archie for months, custom designing a ring specifically for me, and carefully working to deliver the package while I was out of town on a business trip. I can't begin to describe how special it was that I was able to keep our family tradition going with my very own wheat creation. The fact that the team at Wheat did so much to help my fiance make it happen, was truly above and beyond.
