Interesting how a couple of people had negative take-aways from this very welcoming church & its congregation! A few of the hymns (pre-pandemic---church is now closed, and is actually under renovation, to re-open in Spring 2021) are the "stuffy" old ones, but there is always a mix of old & new! But it is a very mixed congregation, of older people, middle-aged, young families. One can become as involved in the many, many outreach projects as one would like to be! This church really does serve its community!

What I love most about the Okemos Community Church congregation is its commitment to Christ's command that we love our neighbors - ALL of our neighbors. The congregation is most welcoming, and gives generously of time and treasure to assist local community members in need of food, clothing, school supplies, and other necessities.

This was a very social gospel sort of church. As an Evangelical it made me cringe. I was there for a funeral service, and one of the hymns they sang was so antithetical to biblical Christianity that I and my cousin refused to sing it.
