I love my local tellers at the branches but call center is awful. They would rather belittle you than help you. Do not call in with issues. They will treat you like it's a chore to help you. If the tellers at my local branch weren't so wonderful, I'd close my account. The 1 star is for them.

Literally the worst bank I have ever dealt with. Do NOT GET LOANS from these people they will find ways to take every penny they can from you! Worst experience I've ever had!

Very recently, my elderly mother who was a member there for nearly 30 years and resident in town for well over 30 years went in to inquire about a loan. She asked for a quote and what she got was loan paperwork. She knows very little about the processes of getting a loan since she has owned her home for decades but need a loan to make some major repairs. What she got was actual loan documents...with zero explanation OR offers for other loan products. They attempted to put my mother into a HELOC with an interest rate of 8.25 % She has a credit rating well over 800. I told her NOT to sign that and when I called the loan officer (Alexis) she indicated she did explain the loan and other products to my mom. That's a lie...she did not. She then went back into this branch asking for another quote for a fixed rate loan with pricing at 15 and 30 years, and they once again, ran a full loan package and ran her credit report again, even though they had run it less than 5 days before. Nobody explained a single thing to my mother about the 50 page document and the interest rate they offered her with a stellar credit rating was higher than it should have been. To me, this SCREAMS predatory lending, and obviously there a was a serious lack of customer service. This past Monday, she closed both of her accounts there at my suggestion, and took her business to Huron Community Bank where they were happy to help and the loan officer gave a great quote, explained the process and brought up the intent paperwork from Tawas for my mother to sign. Thank God I was paying attention to her financials...God only knows how many other elderly people they have taken advantage of. Don't waste your time or money here and watch your elderly friends and neighbors.

i do not think this is any different then most banks as i have tried to get things done at different banks and they are the very same way. i have been a customer for over 45 years without any problems.

I've used this bank for my family for 4 years. My bank fees are bare minimum..Ladies are always nice. Now you can get your debit card on the spot by walking in ?. Keep up the great work. Looking for a bank for investment purposes too. ?

I deposited a 2 thousand dollar check in the bank i have a lot of bills that i have to pay today but I can't because they are holding my money till Monday not their money my money and then to top it off they don't tell you that when you say no overdraft that means no overdraft that that only counts for the card so you can not feel safe or know that your money won't disappear from ach debit cause they love that overdraft fee they charge its a rip off scam

I've been a member for forty years and I have no complaints. The staff and services have been great over the years. Just this weekend I was scammed (my own mistake to take a phoney survey that gave prizes, just pay shipping) so I had to go in this morning and cancel my Mastercard. In minutes I had a new card in hand, no waiting. I've taken out loans many times at reasonable interest. I know I can count on Northland Credit Union. I wouldn't think of changing.

Went in to get help with my banking app. Kelly from the Alpena branch was here today at Gaylord. She was so helpful and kind. Great service. I asked her to stay in Gaylord. I always get great help at my NAFCU. Thanks again Chuck Funnell
