The best Goodwill I ever was at, is located in Traverse City, Mi.
I worked there, (a 2nd part time job) a very short period of time. When I seen and learned some of their business, I was apoled! Over priced! Only 2-3% of what Goodwill makes in sales goes back to the community(s). Get this, anything that's of real value, is put on a Website to be bid on.
What happens to the other 98% after bills are paid. Well executives and the big wigs, are getting paid very well. Pathetic

Worst goodwill we have been to (and we travel the country).
Only 1 cashier with huge line today (Sat, Sep 21 at approx 4pm). She wouldn't call backup. We literally put our stuff down right near the door and walked out.
Goodwill can't afford to open more than 1 register, even with a line?
This location is an embarrassment to goodwill.

I have to give the store one star, it's a brand new building and I'd surmise that over 95% of the business is from selling clothes.
They don't have dressing rooms where you can try on the clothes you may want to buy. So you spend money on a pair of pants, take them home and they don't fit, then you have to pay an employee to handle the return and then pay them to get them ready to put back on the shelf...
Terrible business decision that not only costs you the customer money, but also costs the business money .
Another issue I have is how much they have jacked up pricing on items they get for free, up over 40% in 6 months. You have to pay for that new building and all the extra hours paying employees to process returns somehow i guess....
We've gone there for years and now they've lost yet another customer, whomever is in the upper echelon of management making these decisions needs to be fired...
Everyone working in the store is friendly and the ones I spoke to about the no dressing rooms is in agreement with my opinion.

Goodwill prices are ridiculously high here in Petoskey. These items are USED and DONATED.

Decent inventory that is overpriced. I don't want to buy $8 pants that are fresh off the Walmart truck. More importantly there are no changing rooms which really defeats the purpose of the place for me personally.

Like all goodwill stores anymore... there's nothing in the store and what is there is overpriced. I found a cheap watermelon bowl that was $9.99. It wasn't that price when it was new and in its original store. Such a waste of time.

Just walked up one minute to open, doors open. Walked in and got yelled at that they weren't open. Walked back out while being talked(yelled or angrily persist) to (more like yelled at. Tones would make you believe we just robbed the store. When we walked in it was "GET OUT WE AReNT OPEN" with hand guestering and pushing out the door) and gesturing us to get out. Said something about someone pushing open the door (that's wild but was not us and we did not see it. Also she does not explain this rather just kindve angrily is spewing something like that) insinuating she doesn't know why we're all so desprate to get in (who is we?) We have no issue with somewhere not be ready to be open but being berated unexpectedly is not fun and does not leave a good taste. She decided to let people in as we were walking to the car but was blocking the door previously and didn't even change her tone or call over with "hey actually come on in" just started letting other people in and at this point it's multiple minutes after open. When we shut off the car it was 10:29. I'm guessing they had a wild customer but both of us will not go back with how we were just talked too and pushed out while being yelled at apparently one minute to open with doors literally open. Brunette lady needs customer service training or to be removed from our front. I've dealt with WILD experiences in my jobs and never spoke to someone like that completely uninvolved.

I’m a thrifter. I’ve been to good wills all around the country. This is thee most expensive and over priced goodwill I have ever seen. I found items that hobby lobby has on their shelves right now, and good will is charging more than the brand new items from hobby lobby. It’s insanity. Idk who is pricing things at this goodwill but they do not know what they’re doing. Good will is already a shady organization but this store is the epitome of such shadiness. Can’t say I’ll be back.Edit 1: I read some other reviews and I’m not the first person to notice this. Incase you don’t know most good wills sell at lower prices to keep product moving through the facility. Moving less product at higher prices creates stagnation. You can be helping the consumers and community a lot more if you priced items more accurately, I.e. lower. It’s all about moving volume. So there is a few explanations, incompetence, laziness, greed, or corruption. The explanations that I have read do not justify the higher prices; if the community was your concern the prices would be lower as profit would be higher helping the consumer and the community, as I previously stated. It’s economics 101..

Wow. Goodwill is no longer the bargain it used to be. Way overpriced for a thrift store. Store was fairly clean and organized though.

Not bad for a goodwill.

The new location is a lot nicer. Organized, eye-friendly lighting, easier to shop and I was happy to see more $5.99 tags than $7.99 (or higher). It allowed me to gather a few more goodies than I use to. I refused to pay high prices for used, DONATED stuff when I could stop at Walmart for cheaper prices and brand new clothing that didn't have someone's sweaty butt or pits in for who knows how long.
They also installed a really neat, cosmic bowling lookin' counter at checkout! But most importantly, I'm hoping it continues to feel and look as clean as it did when I visited on day one. I would definitely look forward to stopping by here more regularly, before grocery outings at Meijer.

Goodwill is the worst. I don’t know why I try to shop here. Their stuff is so overpriced figuring it is all donated and they pay their employees nothing. This particular goodwills prices are so ridiculous. 3.99 for a soft paper back book? $7.99 for a Walmart brand tank top? Y’all should be ashamed of yourselves.
