Would give zero stars if I could. Got to the store today at 3:30 PM- two employees at the registers with long lines, not another red vest employee to be seen. Went to the service desk, no one shows. Bite the bullet and wait in the checkout line to request propane assistance as to not interrupt cashier duties. Get to the register, Curt calls in via radio: “assistance in propane” and I make my way out side with four LP tanks to fill. Wait for 10 minutes, no one comes out. Go in the store again and flag a cashier, “I was hoping to get assistance in Propane, please.” About five minutes later Curt mozy’s his way to the gate. Sees four tanks and makes a remark about how this is going to take a long time. Guy behind me in an RV also approaches behind me, says he needs propane too. Curt’s response to him: “it’s going to be a minute”.
After taking his time to unlock the gate and fill station, he examines my tanks and says he can’t fill these because they are five years out of certification. Never been an issue before as I have frequented this exact store with all of my propane needs. I say “Ok? I guess I will exchange them.” Curt tells me: “ we don’t exchange tanks. We have new tanks, but they are not full.” I stare at him blankly. Asked, “what am I supposed to do with four empty tanks?” He suggested I go to a gas station to exchange. How helpful.
This outing has lasted well over a half hour, without any inkling of service I am turned away, and not happy. Go to the gas station down the street, exchange my four tanks, and lo and behold- one is over five years out of certification.
What a disgrace to customer service.

They have a large variety, similar to a hardware store. I buy birdseed and some pet supplies there.

I just walked in on a very crowded pre holiday lunch hour and Angie calmly and thoroughly helped me with my request and went above and beyond for me to get one of the last gifts on my list. Thanks Angie! I hope they know how valuable you are to the store.

Experience impacts and literally becomes an ingredient in todays climate.
Inasmuch, I have learned to navigate turbulence with an air of anonymity.
From that foundation, I secured the purchase of what I deem to be a winter necessity through someone who does not like me.
After item research, a snow blower was purchased through a Caucasian female. After the vendor issued an order confirmation and a secondary notice indicating it was ready for pick-up, I accompanied the Caucasian female, with a second Caucasian female as an additional ‘witness’ just in case this otherwise mundane endeavor SOMEHOW encountered unpleasantness.
As soon as I entered the establishment, whispers and eyes followed me as I silently accompanied the two (2) Caucasian females in the pursuit of securing the item that had already been paid for via one (1) of the female Caucasian’s credit card.
As soon as the store employees noticed that I - a Black Man was there to acquire the item, suddenly the item was no longer available and the Caucasian store manager simply said with direct eye-to-eye contact; [quote] “You people your money isn’t welcome here” [end quote].
Cementing that there is no light in the north, this racist slur was solely due to the fact that, I am a Black Man.
This Caucasian manager then stated that; [quote] “If you don’t get out of my store store right now, I’m calling the police” [end quote].
It’s good to know that the Tractor Supply Company on 2201 North U.S. HWY Petoskey Michigan.

The store in Petoskey is absolutely terrible Sheena I believe was her name and she was rude. completely had no idea about the stoves tried telling me a wood stove I wanted was propane lol wow. They have no idea what they are doing there and the attitude I got was unbelievable. Then we went to cheboygan and they took care of our issues within minutes. Unfortunately had to go back to Petoskey today for stove because only one left in area. But kudos to Rick and Jeremy for your awesome ness. And Petoskey I won't go to ever again if I can help it. They really messed up loosing Scott, Jackie,and Kelly, Mary from that store it really has gone down hill. Thank you again cheboygan Jeremy and Rick your awesome.

So I use love going to Petoskey ts but today I'm not sure if I want to. Due to the fix that the only lady in there I don't remember what her name is she is one of the key holds. But the casher was very nice. But here is the story we wanted a wood stove and the key holder was wanted us to get a wood stove from the floor she don't want to go back and look she was very rude saying well your not getting the one from the back your getting what's on the floor. I'm sorry but whoever does the training here need to teach them more customer service and what they have in store

I have gotten two pelpro pellet stove pp130 and they are junk won't feed pellets in the pot and the auger won't kick in at all so over this crap all in 2 days now I have to return this one for the same problem the auger won't kick in grrrr and I have a daughter trying to get heat into my house I do not recommend this pellet stove at all there junk

I had the pleasure of interacting with Jake at Tractor Supply recently, and I must say he is an outstanding employee and manager. From the moment I walked into the store, his warm welcome and genuine smile made me feel valued as a customer.
Jake's exceptional knowledge about the products and services offered at Tractor Supply is impressive. He took the time to understand my needs and provided insightful recommendations that were spot-on. His expertise extended beyond just the basic product details; he gave me practical advice on their use, which was incredibly helpful.
Jake went above and beyond to assist me, ensuring that I found everything I was looking for. When I had a question about a particular product, he didn’t just give a quick answer; he walked me over to the item, explained its features, and even shared tips on maximizing its benefits. His dedication to customer service is genuinely commendable.

Returning a garbage battery that I purchased a few days prior for a exchange, and the cashier tried to charge me again for the replacement battery and only give me a core return for the battery I brought back. Staff is untrained and the product quality is going downhill fast.
