Called to see if they could replace screens on my sliding door and two windows. Was told it would be around $50. I found two other windows needing new screens as well so dropped all 5 off on Monday thinking it would be around $75 or so. Was told it would take 3 days and they would call when done. On the 4th day I still hadn't heard from anyone so called for an update. The girl laughed when I asked if they were done and then told me they hadn't even been touched because they were doing demo and the table they use to install screens was taken down. She said store owner was spontaneous with store demo projects and they didn't know they would be doing demo. Still no excuse to not call a customer with an update and to reset expectations. I told her I would just come get the screens and take somewhere else. She told me she would call manager to see if someone could do them and would call me right back. I never got a call. Several hours later I drove up to store to get them and the girl said she was told they would have them done by 3:00 on Friday. Said she didn't have time to call me back to tell me (which was funny seeing as though the store was empty and both workers were standing up front just chatting when I walked in). I picked the screens up Friday night and they looked horrible. Screens were not tight and were loose in several spots. I pointed out to the guy and instead of apologizing and fixing it he just said he could knock a few bucks off. I then asked how much I owed and it was $150!!! I was shocked. I told him I was quoted $50 for the screen door and two windows and asked how adding 2 additional windows increased cost $100. He asked if my original quote included labor. Seriously??? Why would you just quote the customer cost of screen and not labor?!? Instead of apologizing or trying to make things right as he could clearly see I was frustrated he just reiterated that I owed $150. Being so frustrated with the entire process, I just wanted to take my screens back home so I paid and left. I cannot believe this place is in business with such horrible customer service. $150 to replace 5 screens is absolutely crazy. I could have bought screen and done it myself for under $50. I will never be going here again.

This store has replaced my favorite hardware store, I used to go to wards hardware on buck lake. Since it was sold they replaced most of their hard workiing employees, which was half the of the reasons I went there for 30 years. They no longer cater to old time customers but increased their prices and carry half the merchandise they use to carry. Therefore I have discovered the True Value hardware What was I thinking that I never drove a mile farther down the road to find the hometown downhome friendly store that answers any stupid question I might ask to try and fill my request for that whatyamajiggie I am trying to find. Love this place.Pete and Faith Miller.

In my mind, the local hardware store offers a reflection of the community. Passing through Hell, MI, to the south, I arrived in Pinckney for a look around. The hardware store has often been the heart of places I'd lived in and this was no different. Super organized, clean, well labelled, good signage, easy parking, clean rest rooms and friendly, helpful folks behind the counter. For a small town location, the amount of traffic coming in and out during my 15 minutes there bode well. Large $$ purchases transacted before my eyes. Must have been a good morning. For me, I easily found the furnace filters I had been searching for and in several price ranges to boot! Additionally, twenty pounds of local apples for six bucks, all sealed in plastic surprised me. Great place. Cities and 'burbs hardware stores needing a tune up on how to do things right need to visit this place. I'll be back. Way better than the box outfits.

Had everything I needed, which is more than i can say for other hardware stores. They were not overbearing, they let me look around and shop without feeling rushed. Polite and friendly at checkout also. Overall great experience.

Why does Pinckney True Value Hardware Store have a policy against helping disabled people with their purchase needs? It seems pretty obvious to me that when I hobbled in on a crutch and asked about whether they sold a specific item, one of the underworked young people staffing the store pointed out the location at the end of a very long aisle. No one asked if they could help me carry something. I was able to carry the fan I wanted half way up the aisle with one arm but it

This is one of the hardest things I've ever had to write. You see, I can't find any fault whatsoever in Pinckney True Value Hardware Store. It does it's job flawlessly, both as a hardware store, AND as a hiding place for avoiding your angry spouse and/or debt collector. However... I have a personal conundrum. I truly loathe hardware stores. I loathe them because a visit to them is brought on by misfortune. Repairing a broken piece of machinery or equipment is a guessing game to those not adept with tools, like myself. It's like putting together a Lego set, but you have to buy the individual pieces yourself, and one small mistake nullifies your entire day's effort. It's painful. And, much like how a captive gorilla must return to its cage for free food and shelter, you must inevitably return to the hardware store to obtain the items you forgot to get during your first trip there. One boon about Pinckney True Value Hardware Store is its magnificent selection of candy and beverages. It really helps ease the pain, when I'm having extreme frustration trying to build a 20-foot statue of Abraham Lincoln whacking a pedestrian with a fish. A Swedish Fish, to be more accurate. All in all, I love and detest Pinckney True Value Hardware store. Despite my conflicting emotions, I MUST give it five stars. It just does its job so, so well. If you don't like ballet, but the ballet you see is the best ballet you've ever seen, do you automatically give it a poor score because of your personal preferences? No. Because I am a textbook example of a good critic. And good critics are never biased.

Not from the area but was doing a plumbing repair just down the street. Not only did they have every thing I needed but the two young gentleman at the counter were knowledgeable and extremely friendly. I will most definitely be back next time I have a job in the area!
