DO NOT BOOK THIS COMPANY. Our promised, scheduled delivery never came. We booked a Pack Rat pod delivery for Saturday 10/28 and arranged for movers to come 10/29. We waited ALL DAY AND NIGHT on 10/28 for the delivery; we called 5 (FIVE!) times during the day to make sure the delivery was still happening, and NO ONE, not even 2 supervisors, were ever able to verify for sure that the delivery was actually going to come. Even though we booked well in advance. WE WERE TOLD REPEATEDLY TO KEEP WAITING until 10 PM since NONE of the Pack Rat staff could say for sure that the delivery would or wouldn't come -- but they ALL told us for sure that we WOULD be charged IF the delivery showed up and we weren't there or if we tried to cancel.We received no updates despite 2 supervisors assuring us we'd get a call; no check ins, no text or phone calls or emails, nothing, until the end of the evening when a supervisor called us back after I filled out an online contact request form. The delivery NEVER CAME. The supervisor offered to reschedule for a weekday delivery instead but we can't miss work to wait all day and night again for this UNRELIABLE company. Now we will lose our deposit fee on the movers scheduled for Sunday since there is no pod to pack. Do not use this company. Very disappointed and upset.

We have chosen to use Pack Rat as our storage/moving vendor for our Just Between Friends Livonia/Novi pop-up consignment sale. They've made our logistics SO much easier! We had a few scheduling hiccups but the local manager Brian stepped in and personally resolved our issues. Overall our partnership with them has been smooth and professional. I look forward to many years of partnership with them!

I am very unhappy with the company and the way it does business. The call center's employees have no sense of urgency or understanding of what good communication looks like, or what it is like to move a disabled elderly person across the country. They did not attempt to address my concerns until I became frustrated and angry with the call center employees and began to raise my voice out of frustration. The container was not dropped off or picked up on the days they were scheduled. When I called the call center, they were repeatedly unable to reach the transportation center in Plymouth, MI to find out the reasons why, and claimed they attempted to email them several times, receiving no response. The lack of communication and customer service we received when calling to try and straighten out the issues were horrific, and we were offered nothing to ease our concerns until I became irate with the individual on the other end of the phone and asked to speak with a supervisor. I should never have to raise my voice to get a company to follow through with their service agreement. Now, I've been charged fees for the company's errors, and I want them to honor the agreement to move my mother for the $3100.00 they quoted me and refund the fees that I was overcharged, in the amount of $815.62 due to their errors and issues. They also added something called a fuel subsidy and repositioning charge.

I don't normally write negative reviews, but in this case, hopefully it helps someone to not have to go through what we've gone through. We're recovering from water in the basement, so needed someplace to put all our stuff...hey, a pack-rat container would be perfect right? Well...if you could get one it would. First they scheduled a delivery on Friday (a week out). Then, late Friday afternoon I received a text message saying they had equipment failure and would deliver on Saturday. No response to my txt back to them asking for a time window, but ok, I understand that somethings equipment fails, so I reworked my plans. Then Saturday came and went, then Sunday. I had to call them Sunday afternoon and was told it was up to ME to reschedule, and the soonest they could fit it in was Wednesday of the next week. So we missed the Labor Day weekend to be able to get our things out of our damp basement. So, Wednesday comes and goes...still nothing. No word, no container. A new call to them and they offer to "reschedule" again... Fool me once, shame on you...fool me twice, shame on me, I'm not going to let them fool me a third time. FYI: My order number was 7988809.

We were supposed to have our pod delivered tonight after 5 pm. We paid extra for this. It's 9:22 and it's still not here. We're in our new house with no beds, and nothing to sleep on. We have movers coming in the morning. My husband called two hours ago and has still not received a call back!! I'm now on hold with an estimated wait time of 2 hours! Completely unacceptable!!

Scam company, booked a container over a month in advance and it never arrived. After three days, I cancelled the container and had to rent a Uhaul and I was still charged $250 for services that were never rendered. Avoid at all costs

I would give zero rating for this review if I could! I'm an active duty military member and am in the middle of a duty station transfer. In moving my household goods, I contracted this company with very specific requirements (so that I can get paid by the Department of Defense). I specified in my contract for a certain amount of weight tickets that the DoD requires (origin site: empty, origin site: full, and destination site: full) and paid a tidy sum for each ticket. As far as I know, the driver got the empty weight but upon pickup of the fully loaded container, the driver stated that he had not been informed of getting a weight ticket. He also stated that there was no weighing mechanism on the truck (like a representative had stated on the phone to me when I requested to follow them to the weigh station). I followed up that night as well as the next day with the facility manager for the Detroit metro area (Justin) and he stated that he would not be having his driver weigh the full container before it is transported (despite me paying for the full weight ticket at the origin site before they even deliver the empty container in the first place). I am now on the west coast and am fighting with their call center supervisors about passing on my messages. I am currently waiting on a callback from both the territory manager as well as whomever that guy's supervisor is to try to get this situation solved. It has currently been at least 10 days since I requested these supervisors reach out to me. All of this could be solved if the driver in Detroit just goes and gets a weight ticket for the full container before it leaves to Detroit area and is sure to get the another full weight ticket at the destination site!! Instead, it looks like I am going to have to pursue litigation and make a report to get the entire corporation blackballed from use by the Navy and DoD.Update, 23 August 2023: the the business owner Christine J that responded to this, there is no way that I am listing my cellphone number in this reply for the world to see but the order number is 2737224. Please look up my acct and call me personally to fix this. I received a call from a representative at 714 am PST on Sunday and spoke with him (Steven) at length about the issues. He stated that he would annotate the notes, fix the issues, and call me back later in the day. He never did. He did however inform me that the facility manager I specified in my review is no longer with the company so perhaps that was a mitigating factor in all this. We had a storage container dropped off on Friday and have been trying to get a call back ever since. Storage container was left the wrong way round from our directions and we have no way of moving it into the correct position. I’ve given up now and have ordered a pickup but that can’t take place until Thursday. We paid in full and haven’t been able to use it. Very disappointed.

SCUMMY COMPANY! to be clear the pod looks good and the delivery people were friendly. However, I was given a contract for an amount and was billed 100$ more than agreed upon. Nowhere on the protal does it explain the price difference. When I called they said they added some fee and instantly credited the money. This clearly shows that they intent to rip off any customers that dont pay close attention to their billing.Buyer beware, always check what they billed you matches your contracted price. They were cheaper then their competitor but not if they rip you off

If I can give it zero star I would, Do not use this company, this company have their driver rammed their truck lift fork into my house and damaged the side of my house and when I filed claim for the damaged they said they would not cover for the damaged. My suggestion to all the people that wants to use container pod from pack rat I am warning you please think twice unless you don’t mind your things get damaged along the way. I am out pocket over 4k from pack rat and at the same time I have to fix my house which most more money.

I'll update this as the process moves along. We ordered 2 containers. It was long (45 min) but easy enough to schedule and set up payments. The first container arrived and everything went smoothly. It was licked up without issue and was in good condition.The 2nd container was loaded backwards on the truck. I couldn't accept delivery without it being flipped, so the driver had to work harder to turn it around. She then operated in a manner I thought was rather unsafe and ended up causing damage to my yard and was not able to place the container where I had requested, then blamed me for the wrong spot. I have a video too! That's how concerned I was about something being hit. The container was on fair condition. Visible damage and missing some bolts. I don't anticipate and structural failure tho.The pickup has not been completed yet, but will update the review after drop offs in a few weeks.

Justin D., Operations Manager at Pack Rat is truly wonderful at his job. Based on at least six phone conversations, he has always been factual, knowledgeable, accommodating, punctual and courteous. As problems arose, as they always do, he was frank, discussed strategies with me, devised solutions, and executed efficiently. He is a real team player, which is very refreshing. He NEVER whined, complained, or blamed others. He sounds young, but his skill set will ensure that he can handle any job put before him. The drivers he directed always did what was promised, calling me 10 minuste to an hour prior to arrival. They followed directions & all were exceedingly polite, thanking me for my help. Justin and his drivers are so rare today. Moving is stressful enough, and they made it seem a lot easier. I am so impressed with my Pack Rat experience, and would highly recommend this company.

I have three pods stored with Pack Rat.....They changed my schedule to deliver my second and third pod without notifying me.I have decide to sell my household items stored in the pods. I called to have first pod delivered and when I didn't hear from them on the day of scheduled delivery I called them. Hold time was over an hour so I entered for a call back. She returned my after an hour, and proceeded to say my scheduled delivery was a different day than I originally scheduled. I have flyers and a newspaper add advertising my sale!!!! When she called me back I was disconnected and never received a return call.I would NOT recommend this company to anyone!!!!Their scheduling is horrible!
