We dropped off a speedometer from a Mercedes-Benz for a faulty odometer/trip odometer not functioning. After 3...THREE attempts, we were told that the problem was electronic and that the gears installed by them were correct...mind you, only two of the 3 gears were replaced. We sent the speedometer head to an authorized VDO speedometer shop who documented that 1) the installed gears were incorrect and not meshing correctly 2) the problematic gear wasn't even addressed and 3) there was NO WAY that Scott Speedometer had the capability to test this electronic unit (despite us being led to believe it was bench-tested). The VDO center returned the faulty, wrongly-installed gearset from Scott as well as the completely tested and working speedometer/odometer assembly. After receiving the repaired unit, we attempted to contact Scott Speedometer to try and convey the findings from Palo Alto Speedometer (the VDO center that properly documented and repaired the unit). Scott Speedometer refused to answer the telephone. After leaving multiple messages, we called them from a cell phone; which of course, he picked up immediately. We simply asked for a refund or a credit for other work...he refused, also refuted the claims from Palo Alto Speedometer/VDO and refused to look at the faulty gears he installed. Way to kill a business relationship from a local business...and it's situations like this exactly which cause shady joints like this to go under. Scott decided to chase the fast dime and lost the slow dollar. STAY AWAY!

Completely fixed my f-150 cluster in less than an hour. Other places wanted more money and over a week to do this. I have not had one since issue since. If you need speedometer work, this is the place to go for sure. Plus this business has been open for over 60 years. Support local. Especially when the service is this good.

A really great experience. Carl knows his stuff. Visiting this store is an experience on itself. Buying a car from him was easy and satisfying. No second thoughts on the purchase.

I used Scott Speedometer to repair my cluster on my 2002 Audi TT. The LCD display in the center of the cluster gets faded away after sometime on Audi TTs. I called Scott first and asked him will he do repair on Audi TT. He said yes and also negotiated on a price of $200. I brought him the cluster as he said he will not remove it from the car. So my mechanic helped me to remove the cluster from the car. I took the cluster to him and leave it for a few days. Then the following week I called him checking if it is done. He said it is, but if it doesn't work just bring the whole cluster back to him with the vehicle. So I asked if the repair is unsuccessful will you remove the cluster from the vehicle or how should I bring in. He said no remove all the trim panels, but leave the cluster connected wherein I can still drive. But the cluster has to be loose. I was like okay.I get the cluster back and took it to the mechanic. He installs and we start the car and nothing shows up in the LCD. It was worst than before.I call Scott and explain the problem. He is like I have no time today bring it on Monday. It may due to soldering or connection issues. So again I took the car to the mechanic. He removes the panel, but leaves the cluster connected where I can still drive. I call Scott can I come and leave the car. Now he started playing games. I am so busy now and I got 3 cars and I need to errands. Come Tuesday. So the next day I call him up and he says a different story I am super busy today and don't have time. That was the final straw of my patience. I said I had enough of the excuses. Just pay my money back and we call it even. Then he says well I don't have the time for you today. Need to come on Wednesday. I hung up the phone. Went to his shop. He was there. I would say he wasn't that busy at all. He gave me the refund, but he took $20. So I got a refund of $180.Please avoid Scott Speedometer for any service. What a lousy service place.

You knew this was coming, mr scott's speedometer. On Feb 2, 2019 I handed over my cherished 1969 Camaro z28 speedometer to this guy and handed over a check for $150.00. The sales pitch was perfect, the place was clean, etc. When I go to install the speedometer I get a high pitched grinding noise, two seconds after installing it. Then needle bounced from 0 to 120 consistantly. About 45 seconds later the needle "bottomed out," broke off and fell to the floor. I call the guy, explained what happened and he becomes the rudest human I have ever spoken to, he dropped a few "f - bombs" while talking to me. I asked him about fixing it, and he says that I need to drive back to his place to drop it off. I say that it's not happening, I am not spending $15 - $20 in gas to drop it off and then pick it up. "What the "F" do you expect me to do" was the response and I get the CLICK of somebody hanging up the phone. There was much more said than what I typed. Sooooo, I highly recommend that you go to other places for your speedo needs, I am out $150.00 and I can no longer say, "this is the original '69 speedometer" because I have to get a new one or rebuilt one that THE CAR DID NOT COME WITH. Please reconsider using this service. Calling all my Veteran brothers, go elsewhere, he treated me badly. There you go mr. scott, I told you that I was going to do this if you did not take care of me. See ya, (never again). You have my e-mail...
