“Joined a few years ago and really enjoy helping with the different events. Food is great and reasonably priced, as are drinks but you must be a member to purchase drinks. Nice event hall for showers and luncheons. Lots of events from motorcycle runs to Hippie Fest, craft shows, and live bands. A great place to join for camaraderie, have made lifelong friends here.”

“My daughter absolutely loved the workshop at school! She came home after each class in the best mood, telling me everything she learned and how amazing the teachers are? she is bummed about her last day and already asking me if there’s more I can sign her up for?”

“I stayed at the hunter hospitality house in 2023 after I had delivered my baby. He had to stay at the hospital while I was discharged but lived over a hour away so I was able to stay there until my baby got discharged from the hospital. They were great with helping provide food, shelter and checking in on me incase I needed anything.
I am so thankful for them and for all the people who have donated to make it possible to stay close to my baby when I was at my hardest place.”

“I do what I can to support our military. They need more members and more money making fund raisers to help them survive. I would like to find a way to get more people involved. This is a worthwhile organization. Gerri”

“This store is stunning, and has a wide variety of dress styles and sizes. They also have some jewelry, brooches, and accessories. The Lady at the front counter was so incredibly nice and helpful.
I went there on a whim for an upcoming formal event and walked out with a beautiful and affordable gown. From the moment that we walked through the door, we were met with a warm greeting, my dresses were put in a dressing room for me, and she even helped me decide on a dress.
I also love and donated to their cause that encourages elementary aged girls to create confidence in themselves and love themselves for who they are. They also hold classes for young girls in high school to learn the business side of running a store and what that entails… I hope I explained that correctly, but I’m sure she’ll be more than happy to explain it to you if you want more information.

I would 10/10 recommend this store for your future formal wear needs!”

“I’ve been through a lot with agencies and organizations that were supposed to help but ended up retraumatizing me instead. After what I experienced at the local domestic violence shelter, I was left more isolated, emotionally shattered, and convinced that asking for help was a mistake. I had started to believe I wasn’t worth helping.

So when I saw a call coming in from Blue Water Community Action, I almost didn’t answer. I had already made peace with the idea that hope was gone. But I’m so deeply grateful that I did.

From the very first time I met Sherry—when I was still in the shelter and came to inquire about HARA—I felt something I hadn’t felt in a long time: that someone actually cared. She wasn’t just going through the motions. She took her time, listened, and held space for me when I barely had anything left to give.

And that care didn’t stop there. Sherry and Patty have both been incredibly patient, supportive, and kind in a way that feels rare in systems like these. They’ve reminded me that help can come from people who truly want to see you land safely. They gave me a small, quiet ray of hope when everything felt like a dark abyss.

It shouldn’t be surprising when someone in a position to help actually does—but for many of us, it is. I struggle deeply with trust after being harmed by people and institutions that were meant to protect. But Sherry and Patty have shown me that not everyone in this field has forgotten what empathy looks like.

To them: thank you for showing up. For listening. For being human. You may never fully know what it meant to me.”

“No one is allowed to post less than 5 stars for this store. C'mon, a store where volunteers work to organize and sell low cost materials to help fund building homes for less fortunate people in need.”

“This place saved my children and myself I wouldn't have known where to go or what I would have done if it wasn't for them helping. It took a lot of calling every day and a lot of strength to keep my head high but it was worth it. Don't ever give up”
