We visit St. Clair to see family and visit the YMCA when we are here. Great facility with reasonable fees for a week or day pass.

Steam room in women's been broke for months w no intentions to fix it, it seems. Called today and was told they haven't even been told when it's getting fixed. Ridiculous especially with the high membership prices.

it's good but if it didn't have such a small locker room and I win I had gone for a field trip because the locker rooms were so small I had to swap my clothes in front of my class.

Only complaint I have is the pool is quite cold. I have renauds and I was losing circulation being in the water after a bit. It seems the pool isn't heated at all as it feels the same temperature as the air. Is this correct?

Music is too loud for classes at McMorran place. Notified staff in person and over phone multiple times every summer for 3 yrs. This public disturbance, coupled with concerts/movies in that location all weekend, is severely affecting my mental health as a local taxpaying resident. I know almost no peace inside my home and pray for rain. I use noise canceling earplugs and still struggle, over 70 decibels inside my home with closed windows. I've filed complaints with PD; any prolonged noise, any time of day, that can be heard blocks away is against ordinance. FINALLY the 6am class stopped playing music this year, 8am class still sounds like a rave. Why not use the big grassy area behind the YMCA building overlooking the water instead..? Seems like common sense. This is not in line with the Y's core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Sorry I needed to edit my post. So originally I thought MY clothing items were stolen but to my suprise I came back to the YMCA to further discuss the incident that occured in the steam room.. where another patron took off her bathing suit top while in the steam room with me she exposed her breasts and was asking me if I like to sauna naked and explaining to me how "she" likes to sauna naked, then after I left came into the locker room and SHE asked me to help her put on her bra. ? that is how my items got left because this freaked me out and I left my suff.. Well the staff said they didnt see my stuff and told me repeatedly that it was not there FOR A WEEK so when I went down stairs to see if it was in the locker room after hearing that it wasn't there. The same woman who EXPOSED herself to me in the steam room was in the locker room again?!! I went upstairs the tell the guy at the desk that my clothes ARE IN FACT HERE! And the woman who was exposing herself to me was in the locker room ... I thought I would get some help.. instead a man named Josh Chapman that had a black eye came up and let me know "Oh your my friend from Google" refering to my previous Google review. He said that I need to put MYSELF in the naked womans position that asked me to help her get dressed. He said I should consider her feelings. He said that people are allowed to be completely naked in the steam room, without a swim suit towel or anything. He said if I dont like it then "this is not the place for me". I asked where the rules are posted or if there is a handbook stating the dresscode for the locker rooms or steam room. They said they do not have any posted and they dont have to have any rules for the steam room. I asked if I could speak to anyone higher up and Josh said that "He is the top Dog of the YMCA". I called back after I got home to see if I could get a copy of their policies... and Jaden who answered at the front desk told me. The Blue Water Area YMCA is privatly owned by Josh Chapman. I said I thought the Y is a non profit? He said it is but this non profit is owned by Josh Chapman the Ceo and he is in charge of everything here. What I dont understand is why no rules are posted anywhere not even on paper? They let the young girls in the 18+ womens locker room to use the hair dryers (as they dont have any, I was told this by a young girl who was in the 18+ locker room). I have also been in the steam room and 2 little girls were in the 18+ locker room trying to enter the steam room, asking me if it was okay? Imagine what could happen. WHAT HAPPEND TO ME WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! HOW I WAS TREATED WHEN I REPORTED THE INCIDENT WAS EVEN WORSE. I plan to contact law enforcement today to see what can be done to keep the guests safer. ALSO ALMOST EVERY OTHER YMCA HAVE DRESS CODES AND RULES FOR THE STEAM ROOM! The other YMCA's say that you must have on at least a swim suit or towel. I can understand being naked in the shower behind a curtain by yourself... this is completely different!

So my son went to the Y today left his hoodie in the locker when he got home he called up there to make sure and ask if they would look in the locker for him called back 15 minutes later they said no it wasn’t in there. he said I know I left it there, so we drove up there sure could be there. The hoodie sat in the locker.
If they couldn’t or didn’t want to look all THE had to do is tell us that was it

I am very disappointed with the management at this club. There are 20 plus people using the gym on Tuesday and Thursday from 7-9. It states that this is open gym time for 1/2 of the gym. Yet, when we begin to play on both sides of the gym, we are booted off of the one side because one basketball player shows up. Basketball is for that half of the gym. Can you come up with a better schedule that can accommodate the large number of people continue to get displaced. This group is made up of last guard employees, 20 something’s and seniors. We have gotten nowhere with the management and they are becoming rude and disrespectful. It seems like we have fallen on deaf ears. Why would you displace a group of people for 1 person? It’s hard to understand something that defies logic. Respectfully,S. Caravello
