DO NOT USE THEIR FACILITY.
I truly wish someone had warned me earlier.
I was a loyal customer with the original, locally owned company for over eight years. But after new ownership took over, everything changed. They let go of the local staff, so now, if you have issues accessing your unit, there is no one to talk to—just an automated system.
No one contacted me about the change in ownership. They later claimed they had issues with my email, so I was left completely in the dark. Some of my payments—sent automatically as usual—apparently didn’t reach them, and they said checks meant for Cross Creek didn’t go through.
Although they eventually sorted it out, they still charged me late fees and locked me out of the storage spaces I have rented for years. That was the final straw.
If you’re considering this facility or the company that now runs it, be aware: you are just a number in a global system. If it works, great. If not—you’re on your own.
Oh, and it is 83 degrees in the climate controlled building. Where is the AC we are paying for?
I am deeply disappointed and will now take my business to a locally owned storage company in town—one where people actually care and communicate.

This place is a joke. The new girl in the office is a rude liar. We have had 2 storage units here before they took over. They have always been one bill and paid as one payment. Now all of a sudden they have to be separated and was told one of the units wasn't paid for. Got a late fee. No one will call you back. I do not recommend this joke of a place to anyone. Wish the old owners would come back!!!!!

Been trying to get hold of someone in the office for 4 days. I'm going to lose everything I own because I can't make a payment. They will not answer the phone they do not return phone calls I am heartbroken. To have that I've never had a business refuse to talk to me when it came to an issue of money.

DO NOT PUT ANYTHING HERE!!!!! It has been broken into several times over the last several years!!!!! OFFICE MANAGER IS TERRIBLE ARGUING ALL THE TIME WITH ME!!! I had expensive items stolen including a new road bike, drill, computer and TV!! This was three years ago and they still have not caught the people. Can you say inside job?????????? Could not believe they just said too bad your stuff was stolen. THEY DID NOTHING and I was totally traumatized

This is the first storage place I looked at when I first moved here. It's affordable, clean, and passcode gate secured. Sometimes it's hard to reach them if you have a problem due to the hours of the office being closed but I found if you email someone they will get back to you. I was late on payment and they were understanding and let me pay as soon as I had the money instead of locking my storage or kicking me out. The staff there is understanding and helpful. I would most likely use this storage company again.

Heidi is amazing and so friendly! Her units are in a great location & so close to home where 24/7 hour access is available as we do have kayaks and close to many of lakes around portage so it save us so much space and time! THANKS AGAIN HEIDI we appreciate you so much!

RACIST hot head STORAGE Manager bad mouthing me too a family member when they needed a unit. She told them it was a conflict of interest ranting and raving about me. When I never had gate access my code stopped working so she gave me her manager code. Her code worked for a short while. This happened after a cash payment was made due to her card system being down. So It was as if I was a month behind. Piggyback was necesary to clear my unit she came threatening me with police. Resulting in storage unit not being cleared.She continues too charge me . I have receipts some of months which are paid. Poor management & extremly inprofessional. I will sue for defamation and falsifying of a continuous bill.... NAACP. This needs resolving.

I was looking for a storage unit for my son who goes to WMU and who would be coming home for the summer. It was my first time ever renting a storage unit and I had a million questions. I called many places and voice mail. Cross Creek actually answered their phone and the lady that answered was awesome. I did not get her name but she explained everything to me. So I knew exactly what size I needed and what to look for. Unfortunately she did not have what I needed available, or I would have defiantly rented from her. So I just wanted to say Thank You and If I need storage space, again, I will definitely try Cross Creek first.
