The rental I was given is a 4 year old Equinox that rattles like a box of loose bolts. Called Hertz to try to swap for a vehicle that isn't ready to fall apart. Was informed that there are no cars available in Michigan...good bye. Good bye indeed...

This is the second time we have made reservations well in advance, only to drive all the way to the airport and get told they don't even have a car available. So irritating. Good luck getting a car on time here. This time was over a two hour wait to get a vehicle.

Totally misleading with pricing. My confirmation statement didn't mention a deposit for the credit card. It stated only debit cards required a deposit. Get to the counter and showed the guy my confirmation and he stated that the total which printed the 2 days times $64 totaled 128.69. I was told it was $330, with no indication of a deposit. He said "it's in the fine print" and I said that I read AAA's terms and conditions and there was no mention of a deposit. Was just TOTALLY misleading and ruined our Anniversary night.

We literally showed up to get our rental and the employees never showed up, so we couldn’t get a car. Had to cancel our reservation and get a new one somewhere else. There was 4 other people waiting as well. Tried to call the manager and he sent me directly to the automated number. An absolute joke. Go to a different location or use a different service if you want a new car.

First and last time I will use Hertz. I don’t know how this is a business. You can never get a hold of a person or information. Their phone system is an endless loop. If you have enough patience to wait 20 to 30 minutes, you may be lucky enough to have a rude person answer. They will not be helpful or answer any of your questions. There will not be an employee who works at the location you call. If you ask to speak to someone at the location you call, they will not transfer you.The people they employ are rude and incompetent. If I could give negative stars, I would. If you are thinking of using Hertz, you would do better to use ANY other car rental service. I wish someone had warned me.

Poor service its 12:35pm and supposedly opens at noon and nobody is here. Need proof of insurance for my job and seems nobody can provide me with that. Getting really exhausting with the way they handle stuff here.

The kiosk is inside the airport, there is no visible outside sign pointing the way. The exorbitant charge they place on your debit/credit card is insane, they also run a "soft" credit check. I also called twice and was placed on hold for both times. I waited 45 minutes each before hanging up.

I have now asked repeatedly to return the rental. I’m in because it’s having issues they keep giving me the runaround. I don’t have time to take it into a shop and sit there. That is not my responsibility. Tire keeps going flat when I go to put it in Drive it does not go jeep gladiators or junk.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. This place is the worst car rental place I have ever seen! They ignore customers call. We have had to use them 3 times for work truck purposes and every single time, it takes us 2+ hours to even get ahold of them arrange a car or ride. The last guy that picked us up, drove like he was transporting bombs in the back of his car or something. The last 2 times, we’ve just ended up calling corporate and they’ve called them, corporate didn’t get an answer either. I could go on for way longer about everything that’s happened (or not) since we used them the 1st time. I sincerely hope this place can turn around and become a great business again but at this point, I will never recommend this company to anybody!!

Very disappointed this time, got a car from stadium couple months ago for work and was very good, this time my car was not clean, no gas, and realized that the front tire was almost flat, oil light is on.This car needs to be sold.

Reserved a car.. showed up to get said car at the time we were to pick it up and there said they didn’t have any cars. Instead of Hertz calling so we could find a car elsewhere, we drove 30 mins one way to leave empty handed! Don’t waste your time trying to get a vehicle from here.

I don't typically write reviews, but my experience with this Hertz was the worst... I rented a car for one day, had an agreed return time of 11am. Hertz has a written 29 minute grace period. Car was in the return stall at 11:05am, and I gave the guy at the counter the keys with the info filled out. He submitted the return at 11:34am, causing Hertz to charge me an additional hour of rental, double the insurance, and double the fees. The final total came out $55 more than agreed because the guy at the counter submitted the return late. I understand mistakes happen and it should be an easy fix, right? I called Hertz support, had the worst customer service experience where the support agent was arguing with me about what I was telling her. She refunded the one hour, the double fees were not refunded. Then, I contacted the district manager after he emailed me about the negative survey review. No reply. I emailed Hertz support, they refused to refund the extra fees. I instagrammed Hertz support, they refused to understand why I wanted a partial refund. FINALLY, I messaged Hertz on Facebook and they finally agreed to a refund of the extra fees. It took 2 weeks to get the refund, countless hours, and a lot of stress. To make things worse, the car was dirty and had a smell that gave me a headache driving it. Do not bother with Hertz.

Completely disappointed and unsatisfied with the rental car service I received from Hertz. I booked a reservation on May 24th for a Tesla Model 3, for the dates of July 22nd 2023 to July 26th 2023, and paid upfront of $264.67. On the day I arrived at the location, the Model 3 was not available so I got a free upgrade to Model Y, which I was happy with. Two days ago I received ANOTHER invoice stating that another $255 was billed for the days that I rented. I didn’t have any additional add-ons or coverage added. When I called Customer Service, I was told that the $255 was the Tesla recharge amount, which makes no sense because 1. The invoice states that I only drove 400 miles, so how is $255 of EV charge required for a 400 mile drive? 2. My Hertz account shows a breakdown of the EV pump charges totaling $79, and they didn’t add the last pump I did before returning the rental.I went to the Hertz location to talk to the representative there, and he told me that there is nothing he can do on his side since it has already been over 48 hours of the rental, and gave me a customer/billing number to call. and I was told that I rented the car for an additional day than reserved which was wrong. I called the customer/billing number, and I am told that they can’t do anything and they will need to talk to the Hertz location where I picked up the car. And their response to why I was charged an additional $255 is that it is for the EV pump charge as well. Which again makes no sense for a 400 mile drive. Further, the mileage report in the invoice itself is wrong as I have pictures to prove it.I reached out to Hertz on Instagram and Facebook. The hertz representative for Instagram told me that the $264 I paid in May was just a prepaid amount and not the total amount. Nowhere does it say this on my reservation and that is very shady business practice. Why not be upfront about the total costs of the rental for those days? Additionally, they wrote that I accepted the extra charge at the time of rental. Nowhere did I accept any further charges other than the $200 deposit which I was told that I would receive upon returning the rental car.Hertz basically wanted to keep the security deposit of $200 and charge an additional $56 and now I see ANOTHER hertz pending charge of $56. And to clarify, nothing happened to the car, no accidents, no violations of any sort, and NO additional add-ons and coverages. Gave the rental car back in mint condition just as I received it. Very shady business and I will be making a complaint to the BBB for a full investigation.Had I known this is going to cost me $576 instead of $264 plus EV pump I wouldn’t have rented from Hertz at all! Either there is an error on the billing department or Hertz is practicing shady business.Below I have attached pictures of both my payments of $264 and $255 and the additional $56 pending charge on my credit card.PS: no one is able to tell me what the additional “miscellaneous items” that I was charged for.And as you can tell on the odometer picture, it is completely wrong to what s written on the invoice.
