Going to try the Battle Creek store. I was at the portage Joanne’s fabric store a week ago. Always. New people some are nice and some should not be working with customers when they are so rude.
It looks like they might be closing up. Doesn’t look like anyone orders fabric anymore.
It’s very messy inside. Like nobody cares anymore.
Unless they get some management in there doesn’t look like it will be around much longer

The woman at the fabric counter this afternoon was very rude to me after I pressed the help button on the counter. I saw her standing near the counter but I didn’t know if it was her job to cut the fabric or if the button would notify someone else, she also looked busy so I pressed the button. She turned around and snapped “I’m standing right here.” and scoffed. Can’t say I’ve ever been spoken to like that in public, so I will definitely not be returning when it’s just as easy to go to Hobby Lobby.

Joann used to be a pleasant shopping experience, but about a year ago they put in a speaker system where they blast radio all day. It was even worse today since it was mostly static. I had to leave before I was actually done with all my shopping.
I did ask if they had quiet times for those with sensory issues, and unfortunately they don't. The cashier also indicated that they were bothered by the noise when they answered, so I know I'm not the only one.
I'm writing this review in hopes that someone at corporate will read this and consider better or different options if they want music in the background at their stores. That being said, I doubt there are very many people who shop at Joann that actually thought it was an improvement when the speakers were added, especially in the way it was executed.
If you have sensory issues, I recommend either not shopping here, or bringing some earplugs or noise canceling headphones.

This is directed at corporate, not an individual store. I was a long time customer of Joann's, until they closed their store near me. Visiting a store in another state, I experienced sticker (price) shock. Close stores, but increasing prices in other stores is a really smart idea...to lose customers. Congrats Joann's, it worked!

Cramped aisles, no staff, bare shelves, no air conditioning.
I walked through half the store before I saw a single other person, and it wasn't even staff. If anyone wants to steal some craft stuff, this is the place for it.

For a fabric store, there are only two that I know of in Kalamazoo Michigan both Carry many styles of fabric. Joann Fabric has more than fabric, they also carry crafts for most anybody. Joann Fabric carries yarn, bead crafts and more. I've shopped in both shops and I've found I prefer Joann Fabric because of price and convenience. Don't get me wrong, both stores are good. Joann's for me is more convenient.

I am impressed. There is a young man working there who greeted me when I came through the door. He greeted others as they came in as well. Very friendly and he made me happy to be there!!!
