Great hat store at the mall they do custom hats as well. I recently had them make hats for a bar crawl I was hosting and they turned out awesome thanks again Lids. You can even bring in your own hats to have them customized or buy hats right in the store.

Paid $66 dollars, waited 2 hours and left with nothing....I was told the hat would take about 30 mins to customize and the "machine faulted" when i got back for it. I was told I could choose a different hat and come back on a different day (I'm not local). They didn't even have the same hat in the same size that they messed up. She told me I could work on it at home and gave me instructions on how to fix it. So now...Lids has a hat with my name on it. She could have at the very least offered a discount on the hat we waited 2 hours for. But nope.

Will NEVER shop at my local Lids store again unless corporate does the right thing and take appropriate action against the store’s manager, which should be termination, or at the very least, revoke her manager position and place her on a strict, 90 day probationary period. I’ve never had issues at this store until this past Saturday, 2/14/21. I went to the mall specifically to buy my boys hats for V.Day. The mall closed at 8pm, and I got to Lids at exactly 7pm, the gate was closed, but there were still customers inside the store along with an employee, Mia. I asked her if they were closing early, she told me she was going on a break and would be back at 7:30. As an owner of a small retail business myself, I would be livid if one of my employees refused to help a customer, potentially loosing out on a sale. I waited until 7:30, came back and the gate was still closed with a cardboard clock saying someone would be back at 6:30 (I’m not sure if she didn’t know how to tell time, but if other customers went there between 7 and 7:40, and saw a sign saying someone would be back at 6:30, that reflects on the business horribly). Finally, at 7:40, she walked out from the back and opened the gate. After opening the gate, not only did she not even acknowledge me, she acted as if I were inconveniencing her. Just 2 or 3 minutes after letting me in after her 40 min break, a man walked in whom she immediately walked over to and offered her assistance- all while I was CLEARLY searching for something specific. I didn’t find what I was looking for, so I settled on 2 mediocre hats, and walked up to the register. After chatting with the man who walked in after me she made her way over to the register. I handed her my Access card, which I paid for and always use to buy one hat at full price, and a 2nd at half off. Without even taking the card or looking at the hats, she told me “they weren’t running that special right now.” How is it a “special” when I paid for a membership card that offers this discount, along with bonus points, etc. While I was in mid-sentence, trying to explain to her what the card was for, another man walked into the store. Without saying a word to me, she just walked away from the counter and started to help the man whom had just walked in. I stood there for 2 to 3mins., completely dumbfounded by this woman’s rude and discriminatory behavior. I finally just walked out of the store leaving the hats behind. I tried calling LIDS corporate office today, Mon., 2/15, however the number was not in service. I called the store I went to hoping to speak to a manager, but of course, the “lovely” Mia answered. I asked to speak with a manager and wouldn’t you know it, she is (as of now) the manager. She asked if she could help me, but I told her she couldn’t as my complaint was regarding her, and I would go ahead and contact corporate via email. She laughed at me and said “good luck with that.” Don’t you worry Mia, unlike you, I understand the importance of customer service, laws that require you to treat all customers equally, regardless of race, gender, age, religion, or sexual orientation. Oh, and I also know how to tell time lol.

I have a hard time finding hats that fit me. I ventured into Lids hoping to find a solution. I told the employee my struggle, but rather than make me feel like he could help me navigate their store full of hats and solve my problem, he mumbled a few generalities before ultimately walking away and ignoring me completely.

I bought my dad some hats for his company that he owns and even after four years it's still standing strong. They did an amazing job!
