Meijer in Portage, MI, is a long-established family-owned store that has been serving the community since 1934. It offers a wide range of products including fresh produce, quality meats, seafood, baked goods, and items across more than 40 departments such as pet brands and fashion for the whole family. Customers can enjoy low prices, weekly specials, and savings through programs like mPerks. However, some reviews mention issues with store organization and checkout lines, with complaints about long waits and broken self-checkout machines. Recent remodels have improved some concerns, but the store can still be crowded, especially during busy times. Staff are generally polite and helpful, though a few reviews note moments of unprofessional behavior. Online delivery experiences have been mixed, with some customers facing technical difficulties and lack of assistance. Despite these challenges, many customers appreciate the store’s selection, freshness of produce, and overall value. Overall, Meijer remains a popular shopping destination for families seeking convenience, variety, and affordability.
