Loved our visit to the New Presque Ile Lighthouse! We came for the last day of the year which the lighthouse is open (the Autumnal Lights Festival), and we're surprised by how many fun and FREE events were being put on by the city of Presque Ile for the community. We tried various chili's for the chili cook off, went on a beautiful hike on the trails around the lighthouse, and climbed to the top (priced $5/adult). It was scary to climb the 123 ft of tower, but beautiful! Definitely worth a visit to this unique lighthouse location.

The worker in the museum portion at the Keepers House was very friendly and knowledgeable and willing to talk to you not only about this lighthouse, but others in our state too. It was really interesting to hear the history lesson and how they worked hard to restore the keepers house and move in replicas or pieces from the correct era. It was really interesting to see the little toilet room. They also have a box here for donations to help support the lighthouse and keepers house. This lighthouse is the tallest or one of the tallest lighthouses in Michigan that is still climbable today. Only $5 for adults and $3 for children. Your ticket here also allows you to climb the tower at the old lighthouse too. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had thought the climb would be worse, but it was better than expected. The tower was roomier than some I've been to.You can actually go outside of the lighthouse at the top. The view is breathtaking, but if you hate heights like me, it's a nightmare. Unfortunately you cannot climb to the very top right now as the top part sustainef water damage after one rain.A Great experience for the whole family. All the other visitors we met were friendly and happy to chat.

Absolutely stunning scenery!! Be ready for a climb though, the steps are steep but manageable. Worth the view! The employee inside was super sweet and offered many different facts about the building, and also a few tips for the climb up.

Everything was great here and we had a nice visit, until at the end when we stopped in the bathroom. Please, turn the hot water temperature in the bathrooms down now! After, us both using the hot and cold water blended, taking time to wash our hands thoroughly, my Granddaughter turned the cold water off first as she was rinsing her hands and the hot water was so hot that it scalded her hand. The wheelchair accessible stall toilet flush handle had also failed. But, please take care of the hot water issue before another child or person with sensory issues is terribly injured or traumatized!

The lighthouse was closed when we were there but the area is really picturesque. I definitely recommend driving up to see it. Also there are gravel paths on both sides that will take you to North Bay or Lake Huron. Really pretty. I bet the sunrise here is gorgeous. They even have a pavilion just north of the lighthouse. Worth the stop.

Beautiful landscapes. Be prepared to a lot of stairs. Be sure to visit the old lighthouse also. The same ticket is valid for both visits.

Interesting exhibit about the turpentine industry in Michigan in the 1900's once all the forests had been cut down, I had no idea those stumps still represented value. There was an entire industry which consisted in blowing up the stumps with dynamite so they could then be heated to extract resin to make turpentine. The ingenuity of man never ceases to amaze me. The lighthouse is very nice and well-maintained. Beautiful scenery.

It started raining so we didn't get to check it all out but nice site with museum, gift shop, lunch area and you could go to the top of the light house. Bring bug spray for the flies just in case. I'd check it out if your in the area also probably be a good fall color drive lots of woods on the drive up.

Very pretty spot! It's $5 to climb to the top of the lighthouse. It's on the honor system, many people did not pay a dime! Them only goes to the up keep of the lighthouse! Please give the $5!!

This is an extraordinary historic site! Very well run and cared for, this site is very near to the older lighthouse which it replaced, offering visitors a unique opportunity to see the technological advances made in lighthouse design. This particular lighthouse is the tallest we saw in this area, and it’s cylindrical tall form most closely matches the mental picture that comes to mind when one thinks of a lighthouse. This site is immaculately care for, and is picturesque in every detail.
