“Working with Matthew at MHG Jewelry was an incredible experience from start to finish. I brought in two deeply sentimental family rings, my mom and dad's wedding rings which contained diamonds and gold that I wanted transformed into a completely custom legacy ring. What Matthew created exceeded anything I could have imagined.
I provided Matthew with a couple of design suggestions and inspirations for the direction I hoped the ring would take, and from there he thoughtfully brought the piece to life with remarkable artistry and craftsmanship. What I appreciated most throughout the process was how collaborative and transparent he was during each step of the creative process. He shared photos and updates with me along the way, which made it incredibly exciting to watch the ring evolve from concept to reality. I was also able to stop in and try on the wax model during the process, which made the experience feel even more personal and immersive.
The final piece is stunning! It is elegant, organic, balanced, and incredibly wearable. The flowing bypass design, mixed metals, bezel settings, milgrain detailing, and hand-finished textures came together beautifully. What began with Deco roots evolved into a Nouveau interpretation — fluid, sculptural, and alive with movement. The ring has an heirloom quality that feels both antique and modern at the same time.
What means the most to me is that Matthew honored the emotional significance of the original rings while creating something entirely new and uniquely mine. He even incorporated my parents’ wedding date as a hidden inscription beneath the main bezel, thoughtfully placed within the structure of the ring itself so it could still be resized in the future without losing that deeply personal detail. Touches like that make it clear how much care, artistry, and consideration went into every aspect of this ring.
This was not simply a redesign, it is a true work of art and a meaningful family heirloom that I will treasure forever.
The level of communication, transparency, and care throughout the process was exceptional. I also found the pricing to be remarkably fair and reasonable for the amount of custom work, craftsmanship, artistry, and personal attention involved. The value of what I received far exceeded my expectations.
