I enjoyed a beautiful weekend at Pinecrest’s Lakeside cabin with my family. The cabin has a full kitchen, four bedrooms, two full baths and could comfortably sleep up to 8 people (or more including couch). Mike and Madi are amazing hosts and went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay here. They have beautifully preserved the original character and history of the property.
Even though it’s “shoulder” season in April, there were still spots to do hikes and spots in nearby towns to check out. Still a bit chilly at night, which is good for the authentic Finnish sauna experience! Also if you’re a cyclist, there are beautiful roads / routes in the area with rolling terrain and very few cars.

If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay this is the place for you!
The owners are super friendly...
And accommodated me on short notice...
I've stayed in many airbnb's and this is by far one of the nicest ones I've ever stayed at!

We had our wedding at Pinecrest this year and had an absolutely wonderful experience. If you are looking for an intimate, natural, and rustic yet elegant vibe, then this is the perfect wedding venue. The owners and staff are all very nice, helpful and fun. They are also very creative and really helped us to have a beautiful wedding setup. We rented out the whole property and had family and friends stay onsite for the weekend. Everyone really enjoyed the cabins, they were so cozy and comfortable and had so many intentional details. There is also a wood fired sauna that we really enjoyed using for the weekend. The property and lake are scenic and peaceful. Pinecrest is the perfect place for a small wedding or just a nature getaway!

We booked Pinecrest Northwoods for our wedding this year and it was absolutely incredible, I highly recommend it. We had our family lodging in each of the cabins on site and every one of them said the weekend was perfect and they look forward to coming back. Madi and Mike were fantastic throughout the process, helping us manage vendors, keeping us on time, handling everything that required creativity flawlessly, and just being amazing people to help us enjoy our special weekend stress-free. The venue is gorgeous and everyone enjoyed the time spent on the water kayaking, fishing, enjoying the scenery, sitting by the fire, and relaxing in the sauna. I personally really loved how comfortable the beds were, and the overall cabin aesthetics. It was everything I could hope for and more. (also if you go, do the s'mores bar!).

As a Michigan elopement photographer, I was STOKED to recommend this beautiful camp venue to my couple, which is exactly the kind of location they were wanting. The owners are fabulous, kind, intentional, and fun. They have an amazing location in the Upper Peninsula, perfect for weddings and elopements of all types. The access to a lake with a canoe was paramount for my couple and their elopement experience. The charm and coziness of this place is unmatched. The reception space was so warm and inviting, complete with candles and vintage details. I'm so excited to come back for future elopements.
Noteworthy details: Lake access with canoes, paddleboards, row boats, and more. Sauna for guest use. Peaceful and quiet surroundings for a relaxing vibe away from it all.

The location is incredible and the owners are wonderful people. We stayed for a wedding and I will say that the cabin we were in was not air conditioned, so it was pretty hot in the middle of July. Also, the mosquitos were bad. However, we loved it here!

We had an excellent experience working with Madi and Mike for our wedding at their beautiful venue. The outdoor ceremony on the bluff was very well put together. Mike and Madi had many options available for us to choose from and were very accommodating to achieve what we were looking for in a small and intimate family wedding. They clearly put a lot of work into making our wedding a success and expressed thoughtful attention to detail. Our family really enjoyed their time experiencing the beauty of the UP wilderness. We couldn't have asked for a better venue or a more helpful couple to work with.

A few days late, but I'd like to share our experience that we had in Republic. We stayed in the river cabin for two nights in early April (I was lucky enough to have won a two night stay), which had two rooms, one with a queen size bed and one with a full bed. They both seemed comfortable. We chose to sleep in the one with the full cause it was squishier and had a better view of the night sky!
The cabin has a beautiful view of the river, and was delightful to watch the birds and sun in the morning and just chill out. Would recommend for a few days getaway or a cozy honeymoon. And we got to watch cable TV and fun murder mystery shows, it really felt like a break and we both finished our books... unheard of.
We brought some food and used the kitchen to make some simple meals and coffee. We asked Madi and Mike for a sauna before the second day which was really nice, it's a traditional sauna and housed in a little library nook with a record player-- you can just text them. We read up on the history of that and it was fun.
A few things to note for folks who are thinking of staying at this cabin in preparation: there are probably walking trails nearby that we didn't take advantage of. Water pressure in the bathroom is fabulous. They provided coffee, creamers, teas, linens, basic kitchen supplies and utensils. The water smells strongly of minerals? Probably iron, since you know, that's where we live, so if you're super picky just bring a few gallons of water for drinking. Or you can go pick some up in town. We noticed a water cooler, and we stayed in the weird off season with very short notice so it's likely that Madi and Mike have already thought about this and provide that. The rooms in the river cabin don't have traditional doors. And I heated up water on the stove for washing dishes in warm water in the kitchen.
We'd stay again!

Son had a basketball game in the area and figured we would stay the night instead of driving almost 2 hours back home - so glad we did, most of all for finding this spot!!! Such an awesome area and definitely will be back!! Great spot for a staycation or any kind of get away!!!
