This is my neighbor’s experience with this company that they agreed to share.
“Dockmaster has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. Everything they do has a fee associated with it and they lack any courtesy. When they came out to work on our lake last season, the two guys were driving erratically and essentially racing down a residential street with many pedestrians and blind turns. Every issue with their work brought up to them is supposedly your own fault. Despite being a customer for years, it just seems like they don’t care to retain anyone’s business. Truly the worst, just avoid them like the plague. Will be switching to a different vendor this season.”

I have used Dock master for over 35 years and it doesn’t get any better than them. Great service great customer care! Weather they service your dock, lift the experience is fantastic. They don’t just sell you a product they look at your needs then give you the right product.

I hate leaving bad reviews but I feel it may be the only way to get my point across. We agreed to buy a dock at the boat show for $6,200. They came out to see the project and it we determined to modify the project. I was asked if I wanted a new quote, I said yes, but I felt loosing a dock section but gaining the steps and railing it would be a wash. I re-asked for the quote and never reiceved one. They ended up coming and installing the dock. I was happy for the moment, until I recieved a new bill in the mail which was $3,000 more than I agreed to. I reached out multiple times this past summer and kept asking why the bill was that much higher. This past month I was contacted that I owed them more money, and I told them that was not the agreement. I offered to pay what I agreed to and move on, but they are refusing that. I told them to either accept the remaining balance I agreed to or give me my $3,000 down payment and take the docks back. They said they would take the docks back, couldn't belive it! But they never came and the docks now are buried in snow until Spring. Now I don't know what to do as I need to buy a new dock, but don't want to do so unitl I get my money back. By the time I get my money back it will be boating season and all dock companies will be way behind on selling and installing a dock for me. This is hands down the worst purchasing experience I have ever had.
This review will come down if we can resolve the issue. If it is still up, means they didn't want to find a resolution

my son applied called them over and over and over again and they never called him back when when the day came to start still no call then he had to call them to be told he wasn't hired because you hand to be able to lift 200lbs by yourself.... if that was the case why are you posting the job in a high school and saying anywhere from 14 and up can work??? they are really irresponsible to say the least I'll never recommend you to work there or do business with ppl that get a kids hopes up and then crush them it's ridiculous

Dockmasters is awesome ,they are great people all the way around Gary who runs the place is a excellent person and a great guy to work with. They are very helpful and very knowledgeable and I would deal with them any day of the week absolutely incredibly awesome experience.

I hired Dockmaster to take out 2 sections of dock, last fall. They were supposed to come back this spring and put them back in. On May 11th, the same day Dockmaster was scheduled, I had a brand new boat delivered. I tried calling several times that day, to verify what time instalation would be complete. The phone lines must have been down. I was unable to even get a ring tone. So around 530pm, I see the guys on the boat. I stop to ask about my dock, this is when they informed me, one of my stringers was broken. I asked if they could put one section in or do anything, so I could dock my boat. They were obviously ready to get home. The only thing they offered was to call the store and ask about getting a used section. My neighbors were kind enough to allow me to use their dock. I sent an email to Dockmaster that evening. I left phone messages Thursday, Friday and Monday. On Tuesday I finally spoke with someone. I asked for a solution. I said I have been ghosted for days and if the dock was broke, they should've told me last fall, when they pulled it out. I was still calm and at this point, I would've purchased a whole new dock. I was appalled by the response, I received. He informed me, they have 150 customers and don't have time to respond to me or provide me with a solution. Well today May, 22, 2022 I had a man drive from Hillsdale, MI and put the same dock in, all by himself! 1 man, 2 hours, the same dock they claimed couldn't be installed. I planned on purchasing a canopy but I would never hire Dockmaster for anything.Sue JonesLake Doster
