I’d give this location zero, but I wouldn’t be able to write this review.
Walking into this location trying to cash a cashiers check that dfcu issued from my father’s estate. That I’ve cashed from other branches.
I understand they have a limit on the withdrawal amount. This is how I ended up with another cashiers check. If I knew I would be walking out today feeling discriminated against, I’d of made the trip to, the different bank branches to withdrawal everything the first time. I wouldn’t have agree to take another cashiers check.
Walking into this bank with no issue, then walking out feeling discriminated against. It was one excuse after another, Like I was doing something wrong. They grilled my mother about the cashiers check 4x. Like it was fake, they issued it! It clearly states who the issuer is, description account number etc.
To feel like I did something wrong, like I’m a criminal cause my dad died and I was a heir to the estate. I’d give everything back to have him!
Now the executor of the estate has to jump thru hoops to get the check cashed and cleared. I’ definitely wouldn’t recommend this bank to anyone that is a minority! You leave feeling like you did something wrong trying to withdraw your funds to pay your bills!
I also called when I got home cause they told my sister they would cash some put the rest into another check, which I recommend to them while I was at the bank. They want to take my number down and have someone call me back when I address that I felt discriminated against.
I declined, why when you already told me the ONLY way to redeem the check was with the executor. You made me feel like I did something wrong, I definitely didn’t have a good experience at this branch.
No stars for dfcu, you’ll walk out feeling disgraceful like you did something wrong! Thanks for ruining my day!

The young Mexican lady I dealt with I don’t have her name. I’m sorry, but she’s very friendly and kind and she was able to set up my CD in the minimum amount of time and I will deal with her again for sure that has not always been the case with all the people I’ve talked to in the office

I have tried banking with several banks and credit unions and for some reason always found issues with them for one reason or another. Back in the mid 80s I had a savings/checking account with DFCU (then Dearborn Federal Credit Union) when they had a branch in the Renaissance Center in Downtown Detroit. But since then left and had so many off and on relationships with many other financial institutions.
Last month, after having so many issues with credit unions and corporate banks, I was hoping to find one that I could trust and I did DFCU.
I had totally forgot about (Dearborn Federal Credit Union) over the years. I would see their advertisements on TV but, they are calling themselves DFCU now, so I made no connection. When I realized who they were I quickly went online and opened a relationship with DFCU both Savings and Checking.
I like the fact that other accounts can be tracked on their website / mobile app so, being able to view all accounts in one place is a bonus. Knowing I can move money between both my internal and external accounts is very helpful.
I like the webinars they offer as well, I think most people who open accounts either do not understand how banking works (which really isn't that hard to understand) or they over spend and don't bother to watch their accounts. Money doesn't grow on trees and it doesn't just a magically appear in your account for no reason.

I love everything about this credit union! I have belonged to three credit unions over the years, and this is by far the best one. Professional, courteous, efficient and knowledgeable.

I have been a member for over 40 years since I was in college for my first school loan. Therefore I am a little biased. The staff of DFCU has always been helpful and answer my questions when asked especially recently with a discussion about my mortgage. Thank you for being my financial institution and credit union for all these years.

I mobile deposited a check from my tax place in to my account. My account was fairly new however, there was no excuse on how the made me feel. They told me they have never seen a check like this one and froze my account. I was told to speak to the manager of the bank and she treated me like some kind of criminal. She called risk management and she was rude and also treated me like a criminal. I Was forced to bring in my tax paperwork and i did so they would release my money. The whole ordeal took about a week. There was a number on the front of the check to verify and no one thought to call that first just assumed i was doing some criminal stuff. I have never wrote a bad check in my life. They could have went about it differently instead of being rude about the whole situation. Never got a sorry from the manager or the risk management lady. I understand that things like this happen all the time still not an excuse to be rude and treat people bad.
