Had a really nice experience at the Hot Topic in Macomb Mall! The employee Giovanni was absolutely amazing and fabulous super helpful, kind, and genuinely wanted to assist me. Even though the anime selection was pretty disappointing (it felt like everything else was prioritized over anime), Giovanni made the visit worth it. I’ll definitely be coming back just for him. He was truly a standout!
That said, Hot Topic really should focus more on anime and not push it aside for other trends. There’s a huge community of anime fans who would love to see it better represented in-store!

I went in looking for some Sleep Token merchandise and t-shirts. They had a decent selection, and the sales lady was very helpful and also a Sleep Token fan. 🫶

Ash was phenomenal! They took the time to help me find a birthday gift for my teenage son. They were very knowledgeable of the products and what was “in”. Ash was helpful every step of the way and had a smile the whole time they helped me. When I checked out ash helped me use my hot cash with ease! Thank you Ash, this will be my new hot topic to shop at going forward seeing the one next to me closed down. Btw loved the Lidia costume for the beetlejuice party in the store. So creative!

The store literally offers nothing for those over the age of 14. I've been another Hot topics that have good variety but this one seems to have nothing but anime and cartoons if you're looking for a size above large which is really a girls large good luck.

My wife took one of our daughters here to buy an outfit for an important occassion. Ash absolutely crushed it! Not only did they knock all of the nerves out of our daughter, but they made her feel welcomed, supported, and of all things... Cool. It's rare to find people who do their job correctly, it's a whole other ball game to find someone who truly cares about what their doing, while they're doing it. Can't stress enough, Ash is the most kind, non-judgemental, and helpful person we didn't know that we needed. Thank you to Mary (Store Manager, please forgive me if I misremembered your name) as well, for taking my call on Memorial day, and lifting Ash up the very same way that we were. Ash is awesome, they deserve a raise, and it probably wouldn't hurt to have them do some make-up designs for advertising. They're EXTREMELY talented and really know their stuff.
