Make sure that you ask how much they charge prior to booking. FYI - They charge $400 for a self-employed filer. Joann did take a very brief moment to look something up for me. So, that was nice. But this was after she took a glance at my income, looked back up at me and said, "You do know that we charge $400, right?" I was not in a position to pay $400 to file because I will also owe the IRS based on not withholding throughout the year (my choice). When I booked my appt, I spoke directly with Joann. I feel that at the time of booking should have been the time that the $400 fee was disclosed to me. Granted, I could /should have asked. But moreover, she should have mentioned it. Even she knew that this is an exorbitant fee. I could tell she knew that. But I also felt that I was judged for not being able to afford it. The highlight of the visit was the nice lady at the front. She did not make me feel as if.
