Since I only go sporadically I forgot that my nails never look that great. Disappointed. I removed the polish after 2 days since it looked like so messy and found a gouge in one of my nails near the cuticle. Worst manicure I’ve ever had

Not going to take any stars away, but this is not acceptable. I work with my hands and I’m in a lot of pain. I was able to get the swelling down by using medicated ointment and witch hazel. This is 3 days later and still bleeding. I feel bad because the guy who did them was very nice and listened to exactly what I wanted, but you need to be more careful. I paid $70 to be in pain for days after my appointment and run the risk of infection. When he cut me like this with the drill, he jabbed his finger in to it in order to “push back the cuticle” can you maybe do that before cutting your client?

I usually never make bad reviews (especially because I came in here for my first time on Friday BECAUSE of the good reviews I seen on google & yelp) but honestly I felt the need to after the way everything turned out. I came & seen Tina Friday afternoon, she was friendly over all & we even talked about people leaving good & bad reviews for businesses & I told her I wanted to leave her a good review if everything went good but sadly it didn’t. 4 out of 10 of my fingers were cut so bad by the drill, I had to keep moving my fingers. When I did, Tina would say “you get cut because your skin is over the cuticle” but I don’t think that’s true because I’ve been getting my nails done for 14 years & I’ve only been cut MAYBE 2 other times when I was a very young girl. She didn’t do the prep work like most places do (drilling under the nails, pushing cuticles back, clipping around the nails, buffing, filing the sides under, wiping them with alcohol to make sure nothing is on them/dry them out) so I thought that was kinda unfortunate because she was missing steps I usually get from other places. I told her I wanted almond nails but not TOO pointy at the tip & it took a while for her to get the shape even close because she kept filing them round & I had to keep asking to make them more inwards/pointy until I just stopped asking & settled on the shape (which still isn’t that almond to me) & she argued with me saying “next time tell me almond!!” but I didn’t want to argue back even though I did express I wanted almond twice, once before service & a second time when she was putting the tips on. She didn’t drill under my nails either to flatten/even out the acrylic so under my nail it’s a big bump of acrylic that’s very noticeable if you look. The color I originally wanted didn’t come out the same as the picture so we had to change it at the very end & I still wasn’t too happy with the outcome but I dealt with it because at that point, I had been there almost 2 hours just for a full set of short almond nails that were solid color & paid $55 (which I thought was a little expensive bc at multiple places in the Clinton township/Sterling Heights/Fraser area, I usually pay $45-48 for the same nails). Saturday when I woke up I could barely move my fingers bc they were burning & hurting so terribly, not even exaggerating. It’s now Sunday night & my nails/fingers are STILL a bit sore & hurting from how bad she cut me on multiple fingers. Not just cut me, but made me bleed. Ontop of all of that, I let the salon with no oil or lotion & polish all over my fingers. Then I looked at my thumb nail on Saturday morning & it was ALREADY CHIPPED!!! Not even 24 hours & it had chipped!!! Then I also noticed a small black hair/fuzz in one of the nails & the fact that it’s there is bothering me so badly. I texted Tina letting her know I wasn’t happy & everything else & she never replied. I really wanted to like this place & expected it to be my next regular salon but I will deff not be back here after this.

Very unprofessional workers went here and showed a picture lady said she could do it after she was done it barley looked like I hsve Any nail polish on and when I told them they were arguing with me saying if I want it fixed imma have to pay more so I just left not even a week later they were all chipping called Tina and she said come back went back felt very un welcomed they were talking about me to each other felt very uncomfortable and she still made me pay to get them fixed as someone who is new to town and loves getting their nails done I will Never come back to this place

Got my nails done here about a week ago, they did not use clean tools. The entire place was coated in mail dust, the metal tools were visibly dirty and not sanitized, and the buffer pad and file had clearly been used multiple times.I now have a wart on my finger from this place ?DO NOT GO HERE ITS DISGUSTING

Passive aggressive is the best way to summarize my experience at this salon.I take pride in 25%+ tipping to any nail tech that provides great service. But I did not know it was cash only, as my priors all allowed via card.I was crunched for time to make an Amtrak train and had to leave (which I told them prior to the apt). As I have less than five minutes to lug my luggage to the train, the nail tech says “you have Venmo?” I was baffled but assured her that I would come back, calling the salon once I got on the train to set up another apt.From there I told them the best date that would work, and I received “are you sure you will come?”I should’ve canceled in that moment. No one can be sure of anything at all. Life happens, but clearly this place doesn’t understand this.Unfortunately life events occurred and the second appointment was canceled. During the cancellation call, the tech asked me at least three times when I would be making another appointment - after telling her (over and over) the last thing I can give my mind to, is that.Again, tipping is a requirement for me. But the questioning, pressuring, etc. - never worth it. I will happily take my tips to those who do understand & have patience with their customers’ lives.

Been coming here for like 8 or 9 years, and love this place, they do a great job. I have worked with a handful of full of technicians and all of them are pleasant to interact with, great at doing nails, and just overall give great service. Just really nice atmosphere and I always love how my nails turn out. Thank you

I recommend Royal oak nails to everyone! Incredibly talented techs and a beautiful space. Pedicure, gel, full set of dip with tips, fun designs, this is my go to salon. Absolutely gorgeous work and Tina will make sure you leave happy!!!!

We had an awesome experience here! Spacious, clean, friendly and almost jovial staff. I came with a few friends for bridal nails with a weekday afternoon appointment and we actually got to do pedicures all in a row and had a lovely and relaxing time, even though the place was also hopping! Would 100% recommend to others, and have done!

I visited here today, manager(Tina) is very biased towards the people of color and every time I visit this place she puts me with the worst designer and also she makes me run around with different nail designers for different things instead of giving me one nail designer to work with I am not sure whether I pay less and the other customers pay more. And when I confronted her the manager was rude to me and did not even apologize once. And still Wada asking me to work with multiple designers where as rest of the customers were treated well and get to work with one single designer. So I had to leave with my nails half done. I have seen some of their work with other ladies which is amazing but that’s not for me unfortunately as the manager thinks it’s not for a specific crowd and not people of my color.

Very bad experience. We had an appointment days in advance. They were very disorganized and didn't do a good job. They rushed our party of 4 and didn't do a complete manicure ,just a polish change. But charged for a complete manicure. I would not recommend this nail salon to anyone. There are many better places to go where you get better service. 0 starsServices: Polish removal
