VFW Park is one of the better parks in Royal Oak, focused around baseball with a nice diamond and seating areas with a balance of shade. It is a large, open park well maintained and set up for families to have a great time. It is good for kids with a neat and clean playground, swings, slides, a sandbox with toys and old-time Tonka trucks. There is also a Gaga pit and a ball field. The park is nice for small gatherings, picnics, and walking, featuring a pavilion and picnic tables. It is also four-legged friendly with a Bark Box for dogs to play fetch. Parking is available across the street at the community center or on side streets, but there are no public restrooms and no electric outlets in the shelter. The area can become very swampy after rain.

Nice park for small gatherings, picnics, and walking with a playground for kids. My friend had her annual business party there for the second year in a row.

Nice park, plenty of space between the busy road and playground. It had just rained and the area near the Gaga pit was very swampy. We liked that they had trucks and sand pit there!
